Weird thing in the kelp forest (spoilers?)

Something weird happened to me as I was coming up to catch the turtle express home (hey, love the energy upgrade from the song plant after you put the pearl in its place and go through; what a difference!). Anyway I was cruising along in the kelp forest; no problems. Suddenly everything stopped and turned blue and there was a blue light in the middle so I thought "Okay, another scene; memory or something" but then it just stopped and life went on. Was I supposed to do something there? Change to another form? I believe I have already mentioned that I am Aquaria-challenged. Can't even figure out how to add a pic to this forum. Any comments? Thank you. Have normal, energy, nature and fish. Want to be a beast. Guess it's the Xena in me. I have no trouble slaughtering everything in my path first and asking questions later. I'm a monk, by the way. And I think I need spirit to get up the chimney in Mithalas. This is so fun; it makes all other games really boring and one-dimensional.

You accidentally hit "7" and went into Spirit Form. (Or you sang the form's song by mistake, less probably). Just hit "X" or 1 and you'll go back to your normal form. That's odd, because the game explains the form right after you attain it ... wait, did you leave Mithalas Cathedral right after you defeated the Spirit Priests? If you did, you missed the tutorial just below the boss chamber.  To save you a forum search, I'll give you the short version here: hit 7 to enter the spirit world, you can only travel a certain distance before you're yanked back to Naija and her first form, you can teleport by right-clicking on dark blue crystals, and you can absorb enemy projectiles (giving you health) by right-clicking next to them.

Thanks Chibi but I don't think that's possible; I haven't gotten the spirit form yet. I haven't even met a Mithalan priest, much less kicked his butt. Unless the hotkeys work even if you don't have the form yet.  Gee, that would be festive. I only have normal Naija, nature, fish, and energy (and the nautilis pet). I think I accidentally got into the abyss today, though; used another of the blue metal balls on the way to Mithala and went to a dark place with lots of dragons and got my ass kicked. Or maybe that was the veil.

Had you gone there since beating Mother Nature? Because that's where the spirit person that was in the secret cave passage (Mia, or something?) shows up again.

{SPOILERish}Actually, isn't that about the point where you're supposed to  get another visit from the black cloaked figure with the blue face? Though iirc it's a more obvious vision than what Sindhi describes, maybe he accidentally tried to switch forms or open a menu at the same time the scene triggered. I know bad things can happen when the F1 screen is opened at the same time you die.

Okay, so, this was in the kelp forest, and I had mother nature but this wasn't a cutscene, just a blue haze that darkened everything with a bright blue ball in the center; latsted about five second. I was just swimming, not trying to change forms or pressing any hot keys. Just a curiousity I guess; if it's a bug it's not a bad one. Cute lil' bug.

Sounds like the scripted visitation, I may be misremembering how much actually happens during the scene.

The blue ball you describe pretty much nails it. If the same thing happens shortly after you get your next form then you'll know that's it.

Thanks, Delve. Hey, where is the veil? People keep talking to me as if I was in it already or knew where it was. I've been in nearly all of the kelp forest except the partgs where all the currents run the wrong way and are covered with those spiky mean things that can't be killed and are attracted to you if you sing. I guess I should just travel around more and hover the cursor over other areas on the mini=map.

You can't get to the veil until you get the next form.

Okay, well, technically you can. There's a trick that lets you into the veil before you're really supposed to be able to get there. I've done it that way both times I've played. But it's really not meant to be done that way and makes that section a bit tougher to do (but still easier than the Abyss imo ).

You need to find your way to those three priests and beat them before you get to the veil and for that you need to explore the Mithalan ruins fully Sindhi If you have both Beast and Nature form then you can get to the Priests

You don't need the priests to get to the Veil, just Beast form. Though you'd have to go back afterward wouldn't you?
