Changing forms instant?
« on: January 06, 2009, 07:56:59 pm »
Well, I got this problem with this aweful temple sun-boss, he simply wont die, and using all consumables won't work either.
So I cheated a little bit and checked youtube for some help, and this guy was changing forms instant (filmtrick?  :D <- cute smileys), and it didn't seem like he struggled all that. How?

Got to admit I am not the kind who thinks outside the box (allthough, I did figure out all but one other boss by myself :) ), so I got a little bit to work on in this (awsome) game.

Keyboard shortcuts. Use the top-row number keys.

Or simply eat some energy form attack power ups and blast him to hell. Stick to the walls if he tries sucking you in.
I defeated him without knowing the shortcut keys. Took 3 tries though.

Guess this is a(nother) feature I've missed :) (simply love the smileys here  :-* ), how do one do that?

Just hit one of the number keys when in the normal form!

That really ought to count as a cheat though, spamming shield button made the last few bosses much easier than doing it manually...

No! Don't give Alec any ideas!  :o  :) He already did away with the esc food cheat because one too many people mentioned it on the forums.  :P

Whoops.

Sorry... I'm not a real fan of the 8 amount per item limit. :P

Ah - so that's how the trainer works - I thought it just allowed you to eat without removing food from the cache.

I don't know, but the esc glitch most likely means you consumed an item before the game actually decreases the amount of that item.

I simply used a program called 'cheat engine' which allows you to scan a program for values and then modify them. That program can literally do anything you desire, I love it :P

Say I have 4 rukh eggs, I make cheat engine search for all occurrences of 4 then I toss away one rukh egg. Now I'm looking for all those values who's value was 4 first and then changed to 3. Repeat. After you've narrowed down which values hold the amount you simply change them to whatever you want.

That's neat - is there any danger of changing a critical value?

You can't 'remove' anything only modify already existing variables, however you very much can fuck things over. Lemme see what happens if I change it to a negative value...

What :o But you really don't need all those eggs the game can be played and won with less than the full amount and the hunting is a big part of the games atraction to me so I will pass on that cheat... But really! lol

Cheat Engine would allow you to find the value in the memory of the game that you are looking for. For the cheaters:

  • All food values are of type byte
  • To avoid crashes, do not put more than 8 per slot
  • The food circle starts at the bottom (South) and goes counter clock wise: so if you manage to find the South most food slot number's memory address, you can start counting counter clock wise with the offset: 5C; There are total 16 slots
  • For those who are looking for static address so you don't have to scan it every time, scan and find this value: 02F30020 (don't forget to tick of Hax)
  • The address should be 0061077C with offset: 222C
  • follow that pointer and do it for 2 times: so 0061077C points to _____, which points to ______, which points to the south most food slot
  • It doesn't matter what page it is on, the memory will be updated correctly if you flip the page

Holy crap. Cheat Engine is like... like I'm cheating on a SNES game in zsnes... except... I'm not. I always figured this existed just never looked it up. I'm totally reinstalling and cheating on every game I've ever beat. lol
There is, really, nothing new under the sun. We're all star dust, baby! :D

Might I add that cheat engine is like... CHEATING?
Seriously though, I like cheat engine too. I'm pretty good with it too, but I surely don't use it until I finished the game completely.

And I believe zxnes uses Game Genie, Action Reply or Gameshark.
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.
