I think what he means is, say, a survival-type mode or "you have five minutes, kill everything you see" or something that's more action-oriented than exploration.  A focused, linear shooter game as opposed to what it is.  A Contra game instead of a Metroid game.

Which...is feasible.  You can say that we can make something like that with the editor, but...can you imagine playing Castlevania 3 like you would Symphony of the Night?  Or, again, Contra with a Metroid control scheme?  The game styles are the same, but unless the editor is REALLY deep (so far as changing paths, command responses and attack patterns), it's not possible or at least not as easy as some folks think.

That said...I personally don't think it's necessary.  MAYBE, like, say, a Boss Rush mode, but that's about it.
exactly what i was thinking, though the boss rush mode sounds like it would work(sorta like megaman right).

I was actually thinking along the lines of Castlevania.  In Megaman, you at least have a break in between fights, you can take it at your own pace.  Castlevania, you're timed to get through as quickly as possible, with awesome rewards for completing under certain times.  Either one is quite possible, though, not to mention very easy to do with the editor.

Like...um, Nautilus Prime?  Or the Sea Dragon?  Or that giant statue-looking thing in the first video?

Granted, not everything attacks you, most creatures we've seen try to keep out of your way and go on with their lives.  But there's gotta be a few...more territorial beasties in the world.

Actually I was speaking about real animals XD
I should think about something stupid to put in there...

The idea of constant attack might work, but the combat system is less geared that way I think. How about a survival system that makes you buy all your spells and foods before the bosses, and then you tough it out till you die? I gotta bring this up again when the mods start coming out.
