Middle mouse button support?
« on: November 30, 2008, 12:19:32 am »
I've got a Logitech MX 5000 combo, and the middle button function doesn't work.

It also doesn't work in Black and White 2, which Aquaria/BW2 being the only games I've played that have the button feature, I've learned to put up with it not working.  :'(

Tho, I can't be the only one here with the MX 5000 combo, is there anything to fix the issue?

To play BW2 I just got a generic mouse, because you really need the damn middle button in the game, and man, it sets off my OCD that the keyboard and mouse don't match.  >:D
And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.

I don't know anything specific about that mouse, so I can only say try checking the drivers/software. See if it is set as another function. Maybe try killing the logitech process in taskmanager and just see what that does (I think it's EM_EXEC?).

But you'll be happy to know you don't need it for this game. In fact the look around function isn't even offered when playing with a gamepad.

The look around function is useful, though not completely necessary. The only time it came in handy was during sniping enemies activated by Naija's presence, especially with the Dual Form.

There is indeed something fishy about middle mouse button support. I understand it's not a necessary feature to play the game, but I simply like it and it feels broken at the moment ! :(

-it works in the demo
-it doesn't in v1.1.1  ???

Also, Left Shift doesn't work in both the demo and the updated full game.
Please check this ! I really want to look around freely !

If you have vista, that would explain why it doesn't work in 1.1.1.

I have a fix for it, but I have to figure out a good way to release it.

Use "E" for the middle mouse button: I found it more convenient and reliable.

Yeah, I have vista 64 and just so happen to have a logitech keyboard mouse wireless combo. Go figure, not working with v1.1.1

v1.1.2 coming soon? lol

I rarely used the middle mouse button too, but it when i click the middle mouse button it's like right clicking twice. Maybe it's set to a double click function with logitech's software. Not sure since I'm not home at the moment to take a look at it.

If middle mouse button isn't working, its a config file / vista problem. You can easily fix it yourself for now.

And... how do I "easily fix it myself" please ?  :-[

Like I said, Left Shift doesn't work in v1.1.1. and guess what, when I click Key Config, the game crashes :

Could not find actionInput: Look
Is that Vista's fault again ?  :-\ What can I do ?

Edit : oops, just noticed this thread. Sorry, I guess it'll answer all my questions.
