I totally forgot I had to sing for eggs my second playthrough.  It was so obvious the first time, and it just slipped my mind.

True. The second time I played it I stood (swam) there thinking "wtf? How did you open them the last time?!"

Strangely enough, I had no problems with that. What I forgot was where to get the second energy pearl in the Energy Temple. I spent 30 minutes searching before it finally hit me.
