Problem with Mods (all of them) + (We all Love Freebies!)

Concerning the many times when I've attempted to look at a picture or download a mod just to find that I have to pay to see it; please check if the fiscally-challenged (me  ) have access to all the wonderful content that you're posting. Thanks!

BTW, I completed all the steps I needed to do to play [TheBear]'s mod, but when I started the game, the background was composed of black squares with large red "x"s on a white background. I could still move Naija, but the map was an infinite desert (just a metaphor, if you're wondering  ). Thanks for the help!

"EDIT" the defect happens with every mod I do, saying that it can't read a "main.txt" document.

It sounds like you need one of the fix files, have you had a look through some of the sticky files in this section Chibi, or are you going to let us do the legwork for you?

Any way try this thread http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?topic=569.0 and if you can't find anything on it there try the other stickies

What are stickies? I haven't been able to find any, only vague references to making something a "sticky." Thanks 

EDIT: found out what stickies were: (bold posts marked with thumbtack and paper)

EDIT: the problem was something with a "main.txt" document. Hope that helps.

heh, took a while to figure that one out eh? Hope you got your issue resolved Chibi. I've never had any issues, so I wouldn't be much help either, except of course stating what has already been said. :/

Actually, I'm still struggling with the problem  I've tried everything I could think of, but the mysterious main.txt document doesn't seem to exist. I'll try emailing Alec to see if I don't have the right files to play the mods. Thanks for your posts!

Yeah, but I've not received any return (to be fair, one of my previous complaints has been answered, and Alec's understandably busy)
