So what are achievements, and what do they do?

You unlock achievements in some games when you do something like defeating a boss.

What they do? Well..nothing. ^^ But it's fun to achieve them.

In the Steam Version of Aquaria are 27 Achievements:

I wonder if the registration keys you get with the full version could be used to activate the Steam one...

Nope. Any chance this could be fixed?

Yes, please allow us to do that.

I don't even know where to dl a copy anymore, luckily I have it archived away but I don't know what I'd do if that backup disappeared.

I prefer purchasing games on a physical medium, but that hasn't prevented me from purchasing games digitally on Steam or PSN.  Along with its availability on Steam, I noticed that Aquaria can also be purchased on CD now too through Aquaria's site.  Steam has it's awesome features, such as achievements and automatic updates, but I enjoy the physical disk, packaging and such.  While I know it's far fetched, but I'm curious if the CD game will be Steam compatible, similar to Valve's retail releases Left 4 Dead and the Half-Life 2 games.  In other words, I would like to have my cake (a lie or not) and eat it too.

Would purchasing the CD be more beneficial to Bit Blot than Steam?  Or is that secret insider info?

Thanks.

Edit: I also apologize if this has been asked before, I've looked around and haven't been able to find any other inquiry into the compatability of the CD game and Steam

Can someone answer the question if we will be able to use our key code to activate it trough steam for the people that have already bought the game?

CD and keys don't let you activate on Steam currently.

I don't have details on the CD you can buy from Plimus. They have an automated CD printing service, so I imagine its a pretty barebones CD. (it won't have label art or anything)

Derek and I are looking at making a special edition version of the game, but we'll see if/when we can pull that off.

That makes my decision much easier.  Thank you.

While I would like to wait to see if the special edition comes out, I don't want to wait any longer to give the full version of Aquaria a try.

any chance of giving a hint whether achievments will be released in a future patch?  ::)
Ellie: Are they from the future too?
Sawyer: You told her?

At first i would like to see the following:

"Get all Pets"
"Find every Outfit"
"Find every treasure"

That would make 30. But i think Aquaria is big enough for at least 80 Achievements. :D

well, I purchased the game again to support you guys / because I'm an achievement whore.

got the game this feb as a gift, so I figured I could drop 16$ of my own money to support the cause as well.

decided not to wait for keys to upload to Steam, since it might never happen.

One of the problems with this is that Valve must be provided with a list of every CD-key printed for the game. That doesn't sound like the sort of info Alec has.

But speaking of Steam... Does anyone else see a problem with this? I hope this doesn't hurt your business.
