Hello.
I've been drawn to this forum that I lurked once a few months ago (while I was playing the game). What drew me here is the soundtrack of Aquaria - I'm listening to it right now. It pulled me right in to the water again, and made me realize how much negative critique Aquaria has gotten (alongside the good). I don't get it really...
Although I confess, at first I "hated" the ending because I craved conclusion that was final, yet it gave me a cliffhanger. I'm a very curious person, so not knowing right away what happens next, being unable to continue was a downer for me. Well the "hating" part lasted for an hour or so, then it was replaced with anticipation for a sequel.
I love every part of the game, the deepness of story and Naija, the mood setting music, artistic graphics, cooking, Lii, exploration... freedom most of all. Aquaria, to me, brought hope of better games that don't consist solely on overwhelming 3D graphics and massacre (that's mostly how I perceive games on the market these past few years). It is also the only game that managed to replace Zelda series in my heart, which means something considering I've been a Zelda fan for over a decade.
And wow, it blows my mind that two people created this piece of art. Sadly art doesn't appeal to most people... I think.
Heck I'm an introverted emotionalist and I love games through which I can explore my own emotions. Aquaria does just that for me.
Enough of my thoughts of praise, I do have a few questions and am too lazy to browse around the forum (read: I'm at work and should be working instead of reminiscing)
What are the plans on the sequel(s) of Aquaria? If there won't be any sequels to the game can the fans at least except a written story or something similar?
I can swear I had more questions, but just can't think of any at the moment.
