Spam

I noticed that someone seams to be trawling your site for email addresses to spam.  The other day I got spam sent to bitblot@<my website>.  I had my email address set to public on the forums, so I'm guessing that's where they got it.   I'm not really sure what you can do about it but I figured I'd let you know.

Well, as a rule of thumb I always keep my e-mail private on forums if I don't want spam.  But I'm a cautious guy, my spam filters pick up most of the rabble.  As for not being able to do anything about it, I think that's true.  After all, he's just surfing the forums like any other person and checking profiles for e-mail addresses.  No way to trace that kind of activity.

Hah, my mail has never been private and I never let it either, with reason, I have two, also that my main mail is mostly spyware anyway, thanks to several people and sites, like this one. A very... annoying one, but pretty funny if you're not on the list. =p

I use my main mail mostly for messengers anyway.
So yeah, just use two mail or keep your mail private.
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.

At one point my Yahoo folder had about, 50 real message and 2700 spam messages.  Took me half a day to delete all that.  Couldn't even just empty the whole damn thing because 50 were worth reading.  But I also have a G-mail acct that's only used for personal things, a hotmail acct which I use interchangably with Yahoo, but usually use that for forum registration, and an e-mail through my school which is where most of my official business comes in.  Sooooo...spam isn't really an issue.

If only I could have an amusing greeting card-esque drawing to replace all my spam...thankfully I no longer have to delete it all by hand as I used to.  Spam filters are a wonderful invention.

Not so much Glamador, not so much. I had more than few important e-mails shifted through them and they never came back. I had this funny situation, when I was waiting for some important stuff, and after a week of delay or more I asked "Where the %$&%ck are my e-mails", only to discover they were in the spam folder  :o.

Spam is evil, I tell you.

I've lost more than a few that was also so I now check my emails myself before downloading them, and while I am doing it I am wishing all kinds of hell visited on those who send such evil stuff  >:( Filters are not foolproof! :(
