Who said he hasn't? Prolly he tried all the stuff and still can't beat him? S/he asks for someone who beats him in his/her savegame, and that's something you can't find with forum search.

I'm sorry, but I suck at it too - it was my least favorite part of the game. /

Hey AS, if you are that good at it, it may be worth to beat him until you get red bulbs. That may be thew only source for new ones -  even if they are rarely dropped...
