first i want to say thank you to the developers for adding 64-bit compatibility and adding mfi-controller support which i think makes the game even better on the ipad, and it was already one of my favorite games for ios.  that being said, version 1.1  although great, has a few bugs that make it impossible to finish the game on my ipad pro 9.7 running ios 11.  it seems like some achievements when earned, crash the game and the progress doesn’t get saved.  the problem is that the “uniter” achievement is necessary to get to the end of the game.  without the fourth lost soul saved, the dual form can’t be attained, and then you can’t go any further into the game.  other achievements that cause crashes that are less important other than to do everything to be a 100% completionist include: passed through (the veil) - bucking bronco - speed racer - no escape - mergog defeated - combo-eater - and maybe others that i haven’t got to do yet with the ios 11 compatibility update.  it is a fantastic game, and i still enjoyed playing it again with the mfi-controller, but i can’t get to the showdown with the creator for the final boss-fight without the dual form ability. thanks again for continuing to support the app with 64-bit for ios 11. i’ve played through the game in its entirety many times, and will probably do so many more times in the future.

I'm also experiencing fatal crashes in the new 64 bit version much earlier than the OP. Currently I am entirely locked out of the game. As soon as I moved into the first screen of Mithalas Cathedral the game crashed. Now it crashes on startup when it (I assume) attempts to restore my progress upon loading. I could remove the app and reinstall, but then I will lose all my saves/progress. Happy to provide the crash reports if you would like them. iPad Mini 4, iOS 10.3.3.

The replay value of this game is so high... I keep coming back to it over and over. So hopefully you can fix these issues. It's an amazing game.

Thanks!

There's an update in the pipeline -- this was caused by an unexpected Game Center compatibility issue.
You can work around it by not signing in to Game Center when the game starts (you may need to sign out in the Settings app first). Once the update is out, if you sign in again it'll sync any achievements you've earned in the meantime to the Game Center servers.

i hadn’t been using game center on either my ipad air 2 running 10.3.3 or my ipad pro 9.7 running ios 11, but when naija crosses through the veil - just checked again after making sure i was signed out of game center through the settings app, the game crashes right after she says the words, “blinded by the beauty of terra” which i think is the moment before the achievement would normally appear on the top-right of the screen.  just thought i’d mention that it was still happening even though i hadn’t been using game center.  thanks.

edit: naija’s phrase was actually  “blind to the beauty of terra”
(i confused her words and the song-cover of  “blinded by the light” by manfred mann’s earth band, (originally by bruce springsteen) and i guess i distorted it.)

-anyway much thanks for the upcoming fix to the crashes...

Hmm, it's possible there's still some Game Center management going on in the background -- sorry about that. In any case, it should be fixed in the next update.

Mr. Church-

Thank you for confirming another update to the iOS version. Your suggestion about signing out of Game Center helped my "crash on load" issue. I appreciate all the work you've done on the iOS port of Aquaria. My understanding from reading is that it's pretty much been primarily your effort on the iOS port. Thank you for that - I never would have found and played this game had it not been on iPad, and I don't typically play computer games... Needless to say, I've not found another game that has captured my imagination like this one, and I've tried. I was thrilled to see the update to allow Aquaria to continue working on the latest iOS.  I appreciate your efforts to knock out the bugs related to that change. I can only imagine the frustration when Apple forces an architecture change for no real reason other than change itself.

Thanks again for your work.

FYI, version 1.1.1 is now up (or should be very soon, depending on how long it takes to propagate to various Apple servers), and it should fix the achievement-related crashes. Let me know if you have any further problems.

Signed back into Game Center and this update seems to have fixed the issues! Thanks so much for the quick fix...
