Hello everybody. For the past little bit, I was working on transcoding the music from Aquaria into sheet music format. Here's the download links:

MuseScore: http://www.mediafire.com/file/44qica0dwiq67f7/The Traveller.mscz
MusicXML: http://www.mediafire.com/file/6y42544x8afkmqp/The Traveller.xml
PDF: http://www.mediafire.com/file/al0ov0341ih26sy/The Traveller.pdf
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/file/bi93r26qrvelbw8/The Traveller.mid

"The Traveller" folder under the project: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=73e93f89714edbdd570086e6449a7a0fa0ae137a688ac040
Aquaria Sheet Music Project folder: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=73e93f89714edbdd570086e6449a7a0f02e45d04d84021ce

Moderato = 100 quarter notes / minute

What's new?
  • The sheet music is now complete, so that's always nice
  • Bass tracks have been modified and split into two, because there was always two
  • The piano track has been changed into harp
  • I discovered a vocal track for the first four bars. I decided to extend it to the rest because the music sounds hollow with the end of the second bass track near the middle of the song
  • Second drum track is now in
  • There's also a floor drum, which you can't hear for some reason
  • Strings 1 track has been fixed
  • That bit of echo at the end of the song is included. Not sure if it's intentional
  • Repeat is taken out
  • 8/8 time is better expressed as 4/4 time

Interesting to note, there are high notes for harp at 13:2.5, 15:2.5, and 17:2.5 in the original song such that the first one is the note an octave higher, and the rest an octave higher compounded. I can't figure out what instrument it should belong to, and whether or not it was a mistake, so for the sake of simplicity I didn't include them.

I'm basing everything off the game's OGG files. Maybe it's better if I buy the FLAC version?

Enjoy. Any comments are welcome.

Ooh! I don't know how to read sheet music, but I was wondering when someone would start doing that. Great job, and thanks! ^.^

I am poor at recognizing instruments, so if anyone have a suggestion, I'm willing to hear it.

Most of the instruments in the sound track are ones that Alec invented by playing around with various stuff in FLstudio :o
So you're probably not that bad at it :)

A year later... And this sheet music is done. I think it's way better than the old incomplete version. Anyway, if you have the old version, you should grab this new one. Sorry it's a bit long (18 pages), but MuseScore isn't willing to shrink it any further. Now, which song should I do next?

Oh my... this is SO awesome. Insane job. *Bows*
Now i wish i could play an instrument... i can read notes, but not much more.

And the MIDI... reminds me of the good old times when MIDI music in games was the most common thing around.
I don't know much about musical programs, but is it possible to import the MIDI somewhere and use real instuments instead of (the crappy windows default) software synths?

Oh wait, MadTracker can do it... hmmm. Gotta experiment a little when i have some free time  :)

I have a SoundBlaster card, so I can load SoundFonts onto it. Darn Dell, they never bundled the loader with the card, so finally, after some digging, I found the Creative SoundFont Bank Manager. I loaded the same SoundFont I use while transcribing, so it sounds the same except there's no volume leveling. Grab MuseScore and the largest SoundFont they have, and it'll play both MuseScore files and MIDI.

Good work man!
If I get time, I might sit down and give a go for a soundtrack in the sequel mod.
I also find this useful because I'm thinking of creating a complete Aquaria theme, aka composing the complete lullaby that the Verse is based on. That involves noting down all the ingame song powers, as well as possibly using the soundtracks and putting it all together in a larger song. I hope this is feasible, I haven't looked at this yet.
