Nice, and I thought those sites only showed interest in games from big companies that payed them.  :P

Excellent!  I wish I had the time at present, but I'll toss up a user review tonight as soon as I get home to get the ball rolling there.  I noticed when I stopped by the other night that even though the summary page showed the game as "TBA" (though it was already out), there were a number of people posting on the forum for the game there, so that's a good sign!

Yay. Kudos for the nice exposure.

So what steps do you guys have to take to get Aquaria reviewed by IGN and Gamespot? Obviously I think it would garner quite a nice review from either, which would go a ways towards getting more exposure for your excellent little game.

Luckily, you guys seem to have a really enthusiastic grass roots base (myself included), and I'm sure that helps when people talk up the game to friends and such. Hope Aquaria garners all the attention it deserves in the coming weeks.

This is great. Aquaria topics are also popping up on quite a few of the forums I frequent. I'm not surprised, the quality of the game/gameplay is really up there and people clearly know what's good. It's going VIRAL! :P

I started writing a brief review thing at work today but it started getting long... so I think I'll just do it up properly and throw it up on the Overwritten.net forums when done.  Everyone's been busy so unfortunately things have rather stagnated with site development (and there's been talk of a drastic change of direction as to how we handle things in the future, hence my not currently bugging you and Derek again for a podcast interview since we're likely going to change the format to something very different), but I still write a review or two just because I can't seem to stop myself from doing it.  Anyway, someone else already got a favorable user review up on GSpot, so that's covered.  No need to rush.

Saw this posted on the Aquaria forum on Gamespot:

No joke. My daughter is in a trance when she plays this demo. Game kind of has a weird effect on her. Usually when she plays a game she will ask a ton of questions. Not with this one. She just gets real quiet and plays lol.

Looks like Aquaria is attracting a whole range of demographics. I could definitely see it as being something that gets more girls into gaming. Obviously playing as Naija can appeal to women. ;)
