I beat Aquaria and after its done it goes to the start up screen with no save.

I beat Aquaria and after its done it goes to the start up screen with no save. I wait for all the credits to roll and she tells me to find another ending, but it doesn't save with me beating the last boss. Does this mean i have to find the ending first then beat the boss? i have the newest version of the game and am a little stuck. If someone could give me a little bit of info it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Spoiler: collecting all of Naja's memories unlocks a new ending to the game,
after you finish the game it does not save, you don't get to go explore the world or anything like that unless you load a different save and continue from there.

There is a save point directly before the last boss, you can continue from there, find the things that are missing,  and do him again.
It would leave you with a half-broken / already done game if it saved afterthe last boss ... where would be the fun in that.
