Awesome!
This game looks so much cooler on an iPad. I think Aquaria gains much through a touchscreen control. :)

I have now purchased Aquaria three times.

First, I purchased it through the site.

Second, I purchased it through Humble Indie Bundle 2.

Third, I purchased it for the iPad.

Some would say it was silly for me to bother buying the iPad version: I'd already been redundant when I put money toward it in HIB 2, and this third purchase would be redundancy atop redundancy.

I would say that Aquaria's icon on my iPad desktop makes me feel more like I have a reason to own the device.  I'd set aside a place of honor for the game this whole time.

I'm so glad that Aquaria has already jumped up to 9 on the "Top Charts, Paid Apps" list.  If newcomers see it, they might buy it and keep it visible.  Also, I'm amused that the game has an official "rating" now, 9+.  Glad to know I can give this to my future kids!  Lastly, I'm simultaneously glad/amused that I got a review in there quickly enough that it's floating near the top of the review pile.  Whew!  Gotta give a good impression.

Yay, now it's the game of the week in iTunes!  And the entire first page is positive reviews!

Now, hopefully, you won't have to patch the game anytime soon and lose all those reviews.  The review system is . . . interesting at times.  Lots of nice press when a game gets in the spotlight, but then you never know what reviewers will do after an update.

Unfortunately we will be patching right away. :( Number of small issues we want to fix up.

How does the review system work exactly? Can people review the game again after it updates (even if they've reviewed it before)?

You can always edit your own review, and in fact you have a review archive accessible through your account page in iTunes.  Then, when a game updates, your old review no longer appears but you can re-review and find your archived stuff comes pre-typed in the field.  You can only hit "submit" once you've edited it, but "edits" can literally be hitting the spacebar and then backspace (i.e., you can re-review with no real change).

I think this may be recently-added functionality, as I don't recall the archived version always appearing like that, but it's surely there now.  And if I'm wrong . . . I for one have copied all my reviews into a Word file, because I hate losing stuff in a glitch.

The important thing is that now I have to be fast on the trigger a second time in order to redo the review after the update.

People seem to be either 5 starring the game or 1 starring it. :)

The 1-stars seem to be all because of issues with crashing. AFAIK these are solved if you close some apps and restart your iPad.

It's annoying how all these 1 star reviews come about due to user error!

I am loving this game and the amount of content in it. The music was especially well composed and I am wondering if you are planning to release the Aquaria Original Soundtrack album on iTunes...

Also, while devouring every piece of information about Aquaria I can, I came across this line in the Press Kit, "the new journal feature, auto-saves and an improved mini-map all make their debut on iPad". How exactly do I access this journey feature on the iPad version of Aquaria?

To make Delmion's post clear, the appstore only displays the overall rating for the current version of the game. Older reviews/rating swould have to be updated manually by the people who wrote them for their ratings to show up for the  new version of the game.

"Journal feature" refers to the ingame help screen. (accessible by hitting "i")

Yeah, the 1-stars are a bit annoying. Hopefully we can spread the word about how to restart/reinstalled the app. (if that is indeed the problem)
