[Solved][Linux] White blocks where stuff should be
« on: May 22, 2011, 05:19:56 pm »
Solved that with fgenesis on IRC.
You cant just extract the files from the installer, you need to install the game with Wine first and THEN copy over the game data for Linux.

Old Post:

I get white blocks for places where stuff should be and i suspect some problem with the alpha channel.
I tried the precompiled binary from the Linux thread and a selfcompiled version.

OS: Ubuntu 32 bit 10.04 Lucid Lynx
uname -a: Linux katzenrechner 2.6.32-32-generic-pae #62-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 20 22:10:33 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux
Graphic card: NVidia 9600 GT
Drivers: nvidia-current

Screenies over here when they dont show up here:

Additional note after things were solved:
White blocks are caused by missing png files.

Looks like archivers (bastetfurry tried gnome fileroller and i tried 7-zip on win32) can't properly detect all files that are stored in the installer.
for quick verification, check if gfx/gui/icon-food.png is there - if its not, not all data were extracted properly. This file seems to be missed very often by extractors.
