What do those metal ball-plant things do?
« on: January 01, 2009, 04:52:33 am »
I've found one in Naija's home and one in Mithalas so far. They look like big blue metal balls with leaves around the area where they attach to the wall, and create a map icon that looks like a horizontal green line with bulges at each end. I've just obtained the Beast Form but I still can't seem to activate these things in any way. Am I doing something wrong or do I need something from later in the game to make use of these objects?

Also, does single-clicking the minimap do anything? Does that wave that comes out have any in-game effect?

They teleport you from one to another when using the nature form. shoot a flower at it and it opens, then travel through it.

I dont think the little wave that comes out of the minimap has any effect on the game.
To ensure you hit the target, shoot first, then call whatever you hit 'the target'.

That wave just means that you haven't clicked it enough for it to work that's all :)

So basically it's like ancient turtles (as long as you got nature form)?

Never thought of that, I tried crashing into them with high speed without any succsess.

They're like two short-range ancient turtles who only travel between two places. (Better described as a tunnel).

I have also seen them called 'super secret turtles' on the map :D I went back and forwards on them the first time because I couldn't believe that they didn't connect to the other ones at first  :-[ after the third trip I finally gave in and swam back through the fish tunnel lol

Yeah - that was a little disappointing. Turtles are adequate, but what's extremely annoying is accidentally right-clicking a turtle late in the game and having to take every single one to get back where you started - TheBear's ancient turtle menu system in his new mod is genius.  :) I hope Alec considers using it.

You need nature form to make use of them chokke :D and you don't need to find both to use the either, you only need to do that with the turtles ;D
