Quick Bug Report

Bug Report.

1. Stuck.
It is possible to get irreparably stuck at the top of the Sun Temple by switching to fish for right over the edge of the tube that goes to the water bubbles. You fall in all the way and there is no way of getting out. The tube should be sealed at the top or very near the top not just at the bottom. Image to follow.

2. Medusa there-not there
I defeated the Medusa Boss and got the Steam achievement but lost too much life in the process, so I didn't save. I quit the game and started again with a previous save and the Medusa Boss wasn't there anymore.

Places where I got lost unnecessarily. (One small spoiler).

3. Energy Temple Boss.
Because there is no feedback that the door attack is working it's hard to figure out that one needs a third attack to win. This shouldn't be confusing, especially this early in the game. A glowing enemy or some sort of particle release when hit would go a long way to making it obvious what to do.

4. Simon Activation.

Again because of lack of immediate feedback when clicking on Simon it wasn't obvious that that was how you activated him. So I spent hours just swimming around him trying to trigger him.

For 2, you do know your life is refilled when you use the save crystals, right?

Answering #1: I'm afraid it's impossible to fix that one. It ensures that Naija doesn't get a foot stuck in a wall when she changes from the fish form in a small space. Anyway, it's a realistic portrayal of what happens to a fish out of water.   :)

Answering #2: I've no idea what the "Medusa Boss" is. Could you describe it? [EDIT]: I think it's the Nautilus boss, and did you retrieve the Nautilus pet from the pink egg afterward?

Answering #3: The animation of the boss reeling back in rage and pain is enough feedback in my opinion.  ;) Later in the game, yellow flashing means no damage taken, while red flashes represent damage.

Anwering #4: Watch out for a glowing cursor when you explore Aquaria - that means you can right-click on the entity to activate it. Hovering the mouse over objects of interest will elicit the glow.

Hope that helps, and welcome to the forums!  :)

[EDIT] Align nabbed the first reply. ;)

Not sure what rabbitmoon's language of origin is, but I know that in Spanish, jellyfish are called "medusa." So they may be talking about King Jellyfish. In any case, the answer is the same similar: "Did you get the pet costume?"

EDIT: Duh. I must have been tired.

Rabbitmoon definitely speaks English as a first language. He speaks it too well for it to be his second.

It's not that they speak it too well to be their first language, it's that a lot of the idioms are from English.  Things like "irreparably stuck," "image to follow," and "one needs a third attack" all hint that if English isn't rabbitmoon's first language, they've been speaking it a very long time.

Also, King Jelly gives a costume, not a pet.  And, if I remember correctly, Simon's eye color changes after you click him but before he starts singing.  Although I grant you, it is rather understated.  I did the same thing with Li before finally figuring out I was supposed to Bind Song his stupid helmet, instead of just take it off with my hands like would make sense.

Ugh, of course, it's a costume. I must have been really tired. And yeah, rabbitmoon's English is quite good, but I figured I'd mention it because of the Jellyfish/Medusa link that occurred to me. After all, there are lots of people who speak a non-native language quite well.

Feel free to tell me if I make mistakes. One should always try to strife for perfection, even if it's not reachable. ;) My English is better than in school time now, but far from perfect.
So... well, sorry for derailing this topic (more). ;)

You speak English very well. On topic, it seems as though Rabbitmoon's question has been answered. Thread concluded.  ;)
