Leeches and big ol' crab
« on: November 28, 2008, 05:57:32 pm »
I'm getting stuck on two (unrelated, I think) things that I feel like I shouldn't be getting stuck on. One is the giant crab miniboss (through the special ancient turtle) - I can get his claws shot off easy enough, but what's to be done then? He jumps up and down and seems impervious. Am I supposed to get under him (and if so, how?)
And then there are those little black leeches (slugs?) that cling on to you in open waters and slow you down, so much that you sometimes can't even move. Is there any way to get them off you? Leech repellant?

Thanks!
Roger

About the leeches: simply hold down the r key and the left mouse button to fling them off, though you'll have to run away quickly or spam them with the energy form afterwards.

About the crab boss: the nature form (in Kelp Forest in the upper left corner of Aquaria) is extremely useful in this case. What happens when you step on a thorn? mega ouchies  ;) If you didn't get the nature form first, you'll have to shoot the octopus clinging to the crab's arse when the target is available (if the crab jumps). If the crab doesn't jump, that may mean that you have to go get the nature form first.

Good luck! Hope you enjoy the rest of the game.  ;D

I don't use nature form, instead I just use a soup and swim below him firing up, so far that's worked ok so long as I keep her moving fast. Also don't forget to hit his eyes when you start the battle.

Ah, spinning like a washing machine. And that's a very good way to get up under. Thanks very much for your help, all. It's a grand grame.

Glad to help (and to hear such praise of Aquaria).  :)
