Stone from the whale disappeared in the abyss?

So I got the stone from the whale, and then I went and saved my game while carrying the stone.  Not knowing yet where to take it, I went to the next screen, and the stone disappeared.  After finding where to take it, I reloaded the game, and the stone didn't reappear.  I saved the game with the stone, shouldn't it be there?  Now there's no way for me to get into that part of the abyss.  Is there any way to reset the whale or something?

Have you searched around the whale or even back inside that little cubyhole to see if it's appeared back there? Failing that you could always go back to a save sometime before you got to the Abyss, that's what I did with Octopus prime. I wasted some good stuff on him before I found out how to get him to stick his tongue out more often lol

AFAIK if you leave an area or save and quit then pearls reset to their original positions unless already locked in their appropriate gates.

Of course I should of remembered that, it means that you will need to do the puzzle again but it's not a hard one

I think there are a few maps that do let you take a pearl in between them, but it's very very few.

I don't think there are? Some places have those grey areas that you get between maps, but they are not true gates, you will always lose a bound item going through a true gate as far as I know.

Yeah, I've never gone through a gate with a bound object: could you provide an example? It probably would be useful.

I thought one of the maps in home waters allowed you to? The one where you get the pearl and then go to the Energy temple's lower exit where you go in to get some treasure :X?

No that is all one level, you are just using it to open the temple up where you get the pegpet.

Yea even though you might cross "screens" so to speak you're not traversing between map areas.  When crossing screens you keep bound objects, AFAIK.

Actually I know for a fact that I"m not talking about the thing that Silver Flagon mentions (not too up on how to make tiny font, and didn't exactly want to do spoilers either).  I'm talking about a piece of treasure, but Glam's post clears it up, I think.... because there's a map change but it's still the same area I think.  I should check it out, but the last two times I played Aquaria, my computer crashed XD.... not sure what's up with that.

To read small text just copy it and paste it into notepad, and to make small text just click on the 'A' with a double ended arrow and alter the number to '1'

No you wouldn't because we kind of left the topic a bit sirren, but we didn't go too far. Yes you are still in the same area when you move the pearl/stone, you just need to get near the vent change to spirit form and back again on the other blue crystal, and then find the place where you need it. I reckomend that you find the place first, it makes that part a lot easier if you've got rid of a few pests along the way
