Thats a very old issue of N gamer Derek, it doesn't show the newest mario's  in games like Super Mario Sunshine, Galaxy and the recently released Brawl. It stops at 2004.

I think it's a history of PIXEL ART.  So they purposefully excluded fully rendered 3-D models from newer games.  Notice the Castlevania one doesn't include the PS2 releases, which were CLEARLY released before the DS era.
