Can't kill the lion in the energy temple...STUCK

Is there a secret to killing the lion in the energy temple?  I've been killed about 100 times and
I'm ready to give up.  Tried to get out of the energy temple other ways but can't.  Very frustrated.

Stuff the pearl it sits on into the socket near the start of the tunnel.
And energy barriers don't only hurt you, btw.

Is that enough to help you out?


EDIT: Uh, before getting frustrated and giving up, post here earlier

EDIT2: Almost forgot this: Rule of thumb: If it flashes yellow, you are not doing damage. If it flashes red, you are.
That is, flashing yellow does often trigger something else that is needed for success. Like in case of this boss, you are not hurting it, but you are forcing it to go back further into the tunnel.

(Can be compared to poking someone with a stick (yellow) or a chainsaw (red)).

Nope, if you're fast you can nab it away from him right in the beginning, that makes the whole fight shorter than 2 minutes.

I can get him to come to the energy bar twice but how do you get him the third time? I've been stuck for days on this. Please help before I delete the game. Aaaarrrgggghhh.

Yep, he learns.
He doesnt put his head between the barrier anymore, but still tries to swipe you, when you come close to him. And when he does that, he's between the barrier.

Naw, you just gotta get a bit of practice, and pay attention to the details. The game has a lot of little details, but most of them are just there because they're awesome.

It's enough to have his fingernail (claw) in the barrier. That should be manageable. You have to risk getting hit by him, though...

Did you do that with an iPad? I can't move that quick!  It takes me a few seconds just to get her to glow by holding down my finger on her? Is there a short-cut I am missing?

No, i don't have one, and unless one falls off a truck (ahem) i'll never have one. Used a mouse, but could use a gamepad as well. Mouse makes it easier to see how i'm moving, imho.

Just use one finger to move and another one to charge in the meantime, should be manageable (No, you don't need 3 hands, 2 are enough )
Except in the beginning, you don't have to change forms at all, which is a definite plus here -- Later there will be bosses where you have to keep switching forms, AND dodge all sorts of stuff flying around. These are a lot more fun, too

I totally appreciate you efforts but everytime I try to light up that pearl on 3rd try it doesn't set off the laser.  She glows and everything and the darn pearl does nothing.  Well if I ever get it ...thank- you!
