Can I get a hint on this, I mean, I just can't get it, and I have read the other post with the lamps and what not, and have wrote down their color, and tried playing it in diffrent order (backwards or forwards). I am missing something here, please point in the direction or simply reveal the path. Thanks.

It's probably something very stupid, since no one seems to have had this problem, but here it goes:

I have gotten the pearl behind the octopus, but I can't carry it through the first geiser draft. I go into spirit form to get through the draft and when I try to bind the pearl from the other side, it gets stuck behind the vapors.
 
By the way, I haven't had this much fun since Super Metroid!

The obvious question is: why are you trying to do that in the first place?

EDIT: Just a side note. I do not recall any steam vents where you need to take that, but I do not have the game here to confirm that.

I haven't seen any pearl pedestals near the whale in the abyss. I know there is one roughly in the center of the map, when you go through a narrow passage to north, but, to get there, I need to get through a bunch of steam vents.

Yeah there is some steam vents there, I did the same thing once, assuming that the pearl could magically pass through the steam!

Hint (well more the answer!): you can change forms after you bind something and it will remain bound.
