Stuck in the body. (spoilers)

I have a feeling I broke something.
Yesterday I swam past the purple tentacle thing into the Body area and found someone imprisoned there. I swam around, found 4 spirits and found out he was called Li and I was supposed to free him, but nothing happened when I returned to the sphere.
Today I came here, found out that Li was the diver in the Veil that I couldn't get to talk to me, reloaded an earlier save, got him and redid the spirit gathering part. Got the dual form, but when I decided to go back, every time I tried to swim back to the Abyss I ended up *in* the tentacle. Is the only way the way down now or did I break something?

That shouldn't be possible. The tentacle isn't supposed to move out of the way until well after you find Li the first time, due to several story moments that require Li.

I used the nature form, I think, to squeeze between the spikes and the tentacle.

Yeah, you're using the unpatched version wherein its possible to do that.

*Sigh*...that tentacle should have been bigger to start...oh well, live and learn right?  I almost did that myself, but then I was like "WAIT!  This is a gaming no-no!  Never squeeze into places that look too small to do so!" And I immediately stopped.  This turned out to be a good idea.

Oh, I didn't realize you could do that in a previous version. Learned something new.

If we were aware that you could squeeze by it, then we would have changed it. But we weren't aware of it. Sorry.
