Map bug
« on: August 02, 2010, 04:53:12 am »
I think I found a bug. Here is what I did:

I found Li WITHOUT having first found the broken submarine.
After alot of play, I lost Li.
Before going on, I decided to gather supplies. In doing so, I happened to swim past the sub.

When I did, the corner map flashed blue and on the main map a blue circle appeared where Li is first found. I went there in case something new had popped up, but nothing was there.

I think the game has some logic like "if Li is not in play and Naija is at the sub, mark Li" when it should be "if Li has never been in play and Naija is at the sub, mark Li".

I didn't find the submarine before finding Li. I don't really remember the map, so I don't know how it's supposed to be played. In any case, it's a non-issue, as it doesn't really impact gameplay.

I think it's simply one line of code that has got to do with flags. Not sure if I'm correct, but there's a flag for when you've not yet found li, for when you have it, for when you leave it in the cave and for when it's kidnapped, probably a few more... or maybe less.

What I'm getting at is that one line of code that checks for those flags is slightly faulty, I wouldn't call it a bug, but you're right that it's there none the less.
I'm still not sure if the sub was there in the earlier versions.
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.
