I forgot about this, but in some situations effects like water splashing because you passed through into air or got knocked around will happen many many times in one second, with some pretty extreme sound artifacting and the screen going crazy with all the wavyness.
Most easily reproduced in Sun Worms lair; swim at just the right angle to fall into the water immediately after leaving it as the waterlevel drops, and you'll cause like 500 splashes (with accompanying effects being stacked on top of each other) in a few seconds.
Perhaps there should be some limit like only once per half second?
