Peg boss queery

I've just been reading another thread and I came across this post that left me feeling puzzled.

I just ate two pistol shrimps (was hard but worth), I can totally recommend this to have some heavy firearms in your backhand.
I killed the battle peg miniboss with 2-3 shots a few seconds after entering the cave and with all the little pegs still alive.

The thing is that I've killed this boss twice now, so why doesn't he stay dead like the other bosses and mini bosses?

Maybe b/c you didn't get the pet when you beat him?

I think Glamador is right. If you didn't collect the egg where the pet hatches from, the sequence isn't complete and will start again.

No it's not that because I have found the peg pet the most useful since I collected him. I am tempted to go back there and see if I can kill him again and perhaps collect another peg pet lol

Well I can't think of any other way you'd make that happen.  Because I know I went back to the Peg Prime boss room looking for treasures and he definitely wasn't there.

He was still there, and I have to take the pearl from the plant each time, so between him and the Simon Says boss I am all done and just waiting for the right time to go and face the end game. It's the first time that I have taken on one of these big bosses so even though I have saved at a good point with plenty of legendary cake etc. it's still a big step in a game that I have really enjoed, and that I don't want to end.
It's just never quite the same the second time around is it

Man ain't that the truth.  But I must say, going back and playing it again I'm enjoying it quite a lot.  Of course I say that, I've been doing my "second run" for like a month and a half now.  I'm kinda holding out for the new patch.

I'm just hoping that it will be released in cd format sometime and that the followup follows shortly after, I can't wait
