Hey what's up guys. Hope things are going great after gdc. I just wanted to show you a glimpse of the project me and my team are working on. It's looking better then this video and hopefully we'll get a new vid up soon. but I just wanted to show you guys and everyone else

It's called monkey wings. The game revolves around flying a plane and doing aerobatic tricks while the time counts down and also going through rings for the time to increase.

the way it looks now it alot prettier and the video is semi laggy b/c we used fraps for record but if anyone likes it. Let us know

whoa thanks. hahaha i donno how that happened. I noticed that when you finish watching that heatseaker game at the end of the video the first video it shows is our game and the same when you finish watching the video for our game. thanks for pointing out the link. I probably misled people until you posted that

wow xander you are right. that plane looks very awesome.

Well we are using direct x for our rendering api. and using x files to load in all 3d models and all the 3d models were done in 3dsmax. The sound engine is just Fmod. We are using some shaders to do outlining effects to make it appear cel shaded hahah everyone asks if it's cel shaded but that's in the current version not the video one. using direct input for the controls and that's about it.

Music would awesome. Oh yeah the game has a hidden feature I always forget to tell people about. you can put your own music in the music folder and be able to cycle through it in the game. I am going to get a new video up hopefully with sound and stuff and it will show how the game looks now b/c there has been alot of improvements

but thanks everyone. and Alec let me know when you are needing any testing or anything on Aquaria
as far as a demo for us. I'm not sure when exactly but hopefully soon.

Not only does it look awesome, but it is a hell of a lot of fun to fly.

The Pitts S2B is an unlimited class biplane. It will take quite a few Gs, and has inverted fuel, so you can fly upside down until the cows come home (most small aircraft use gravity to get fuel and oil from the tanks to the engine -- thus, when you fly upside down, or inverted, the fuel can no longer get to the engine. The S2B has devices to allow you to fly upside down until you run out of fuel -- thus, and inverted fuel system). That, and a huge engine, make the Pitts S2B one of the greatest airplanes every built. They are so much fun.

well that does sound impressive. We originally got the idea watching a video off youtube titled insane biplane so biplanes were an inspiration and that sounds like a rocking biplane.

there is a somewhat beta demo. it has bugs and if you want to know the controls just press F1 during gameplay and the onscreen menus will come. there is still bugs definitely, some very obvious ones too lol

Really wanted to play it, but it doesn't seem to start up properly for me. It tries to go fullscreen, the music starts playing, then it exits fuilscreen, minimizing to the taskbar. If I try to reenter from the taskbar, it opens up a window. It seems like things are happening, but the window is just black. I have a widescreen resolution, but I tried setting my desktop to 1024x768 and the problem still occurred.

If you need more info / want me to test further, just let me know.

hmm that is really strange. My desktop is a resolution of 1440x900 cuz it's a wide 17 inch laptop. I haven't really had much of a chance to test it other machines besides our laptops and my home pc. Also tested on my moms laptop. The game jut runs 1024x 768 I believe. hmm that's a bummer I wonder what the problemo is. It could be some direct x voodoo but the dlls for the version of the sdk we used are in the root folder.

Yeah it seems like it starts up fine, it just appears to have trouble creating the window properly. Like the sound keeps playing and there's sound effects coming in, so it sounds like its getting to a title screen/intro.

PC game development is hell man, things just get incompatible for the weirdest reasons.

I feel your pain.

yeah I wonder if it has anything to do with the video card. I myself am using a an ati radeon mobility x600 with 128 mb of ram. I believe we've tested it on an nvidia machine as well. I wonder if it would load if you compiled it on your pc and ran it from visual studio , allthough you'd need the project then and it probably wouldn't work but I've seen stranger things

, it works on my computer, quite a lot of fun, just didn't quite figure out how the tricks works just yet .. just a high-end/mid-end desktop with ATIx1600XT
