Chinese Aquaria
« on: April 25, 2008, 06:21:27 am »
While surfing the net, I came across a version of Aquaria translated to Chinese!  Even the vocals have been converted.   Although the vocals that had music in the background were sort of butchered and recorded with new music that is not nearly as nice as Alec's music.

Are they selling it?  Because if it's just a patch that ok...but if they're selling it I say we make them stop!

Well I don't read the language but I don't think they are selling it.  But I also don't think it is a patch but the full game so still falls under the category of "they should stop it".  >:(  But I sincerely doubt that is possible given the location...  But if Bit Blot wants the url I'd be happy to pm it to them.

Haha, we already know about it.

I think 'Aquaria' comes out as 'Angela's Story' in their Chinese translation for some reason?

There isn't really anything we can do about it, unfortunately.

It would have been cool to make our own Chinese version, but everything seems to get knock off copies there anyways!

guess you can take m$' adage of at least they are playing your pirated game and not someone else's. apparantly there is a loophole in the new Vista for registration or something because they know they can't do anything really about pirating, but they feel that if people are using illegal wintendo and office then that means it's the desired standard and will eventually boil over into popular thought as indispensable.

Well I suppose it's a compliment really, they do only copy good popular things but it would of been nice if they had first asked and then had a share of the takings even if only a small share? They do the same with art, old masters and new, nothing is sacred! ::)
