Support / graphics glitch

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop with a GeForce Go 6800. Every time I run Aquaria, it does this:

This happens a few seconds into the intro. The noise is across the whole screen- not just in the game window. When it happens, the computer freezes up, and I have to cut the power.
The first time it happened it persisted through several reboots, affecting even the BIOS screen and windows when booted into safe mode. Eventually, turning on the computer only came up with a black screen (backlight's on though). I thought it was a hardware problem and put it aside for the rest of the day.
Today the computer worked fine again, and I did some other things for a couple of hours with no problems, until I tried to run Aquaria. Same bug (although luckily after powering down it now starts up normally). I updated to the latest driver on laptopvideo2go, and the problem remains, although it's slightly different. There is now less noise, and it doesn't happen until I've loaded a save and played for a minute. I tried running it in 16 bit mode with all the options turned off. Every few seconds the screen flickers, a little noise appears, then it goes back to normal.
I'm 9 hours into the game. Up until yesterday, I had absolutely no problems, running in 1024x768 windowed mode, with all the graphics options on.
I'm not sure if this would work, but I'd like to backup my saved games and reinstall the game (I'd be thrilled if I got another 9 hours out of it). Unfortunately I deleted the install file (tiny laptop harddrive) and I cannot download it again from Plimus.
It's a great game. I'd like to play it some more please. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
