Support / rights to a redownload?

I downloaded and played this about a year ago and i loved it, but unfortunately i deleted it off my computer. I contacted plimus and asked them to resend the DL link but they said that they weren't responsible for any sort of refund. Don't I have some sort of rights to redownload this game, like if i had bought the game on steam or direct2drive. I love this game alot I'de be willing to spend another 20 bucks on steam just to have it readily available whenever i wanna replay it, but I'de rather not have to pay for the game twice. I don't know or remember if I signed any copyright agreement or what that was, so if I don't technically have rights to redownload this game whatever. I know you guys are an independent company and getting your games through to the masses must be challenging, but if i could get an update as to where I can redownload this game or not, please let me know.
