as for getting our existing copies working with Steam...why not go the manual route? Get some promotional codes/credits to download the game from Steam, and then do the same thing you did with the upgrade- have people email you their serial # from their original purchase, and issue them a credit to download the game from Steam. The game files are the same, so it shouldn't be hard to move save files over from the original game to the Steam install, correct?

Damn, man. I spent a whole lot of time at the Left 4 Dead booth at PAX, I shoulda brought it up with one of the Valve guys there. Silly me. Any progress? Or is there anything we can do, email, sign a petition, create fan sites, etc etc etc? I'll drive over there and hunger strike. Was gonna do it anyway to make them let me in to play L4D again, I can add this to my list of demands.

The guy you talk to get access to SteamWorks is the same guy you talk to to get on Steam. (the same guy we're already talking to)

So this is the guy that you're waiting to get back to you? Have an email address? Cause we could show some love.

Ataraxia talks a -lot- of sense. Having looked at it, I've got to agree that implementing Steam Works in Aquaria is probably the best place to start and would likely fast-track the process considerably.

Jesus, people. If being obnoxious was all it took to get onto Steam, everything would be on there. They've contacted them, that's really all they can do right now. If you want it to happen, maybe try contacting Steam yourselves and showing them there's a fanbase and a demand for the game out there. It's the gamers' money they're after, not the developers.

Returning to the topic of Wiiware...yeah, I don't really see it happening, unless it went episodic like that Lost Winds is doing. Honestly though, Aquaria could probably hack it as a full release on that platform, if a publisher could be found.

Does it just involve making a lot of noise on their forums? :)

Far as I know, yes. I'm given to understand that's how they choose games to add with each compatibility update. I'd love to see this one as this client is how I keep in touch with my gaming friends, as well as keep track of what I've been playing. So I thought I'd do my part to try and get some support for Aquaria being added.

If you'd like to see it, posting here would help.  If you don't know what Xfire is, it's an IM client that works within most games. Worth checking out.
