Hi.
Magnatune record label doesn't do the pretty boxed release
Alec was talking about in another forum thread, as they are
concentrating on selling music online. How ever, they don't
put any restrictions on their artists, so it should be possible
to do a boxed release elsewhere.
Magnatune claims to be friendly towards artists and customers.
I've heard that e.g. ITunes is very picky about the audio formats
they support, while Magnatune does mp3, ogg, flac and cd-r.
I don't know how ITunes treat artists.
Read more about Magnatune from http://magnatune.com/info/
and check out, if it suits you. I just think it might.
Another online music service that you should be aware of is Last.fm.
Last.fm is a complex service that analyses music tastes of people and
creates custom radio stations based on that.
Adding Aquaria sound track to Last.fm radio service, might broaden
audience to people who haven't played Aquaria, but listen to similar
music from other artists. These new fans might also get interested
about the game because the music rocks!
Check out http://www.last.fm/ and try it out.
I also hope you'll find someone to do that pretty boxed sound track
release. I'm so going to buy that one when you do. My friend has
only seen Aquaria on youtube, but is willing to buy the sound
track on that basis.
I wish you luck on the path(s) you choose!
