Support / Re: How to Download the Latest Version: 1.1.1
« on: December 25, 2008, 07:19:07 am »
It's a bummer that I can't even get the original version of Aquaria that I bought.  All this hubub about 1.1.1 has made me want to play again, but I reformatted my hard drive P_P.

I sent an email to Alec but he is clearly swamped.

Gameplay / The muscle eye
« on: December 17, 2007, 11:14:22 am »
Ok, so I don't usually do this kind of thing, as part of every good game for me is the accomplishment of beating it and finding everything on my own.  But how tf do I beat the last boss?  His muscly looking eye is hanging out, and looks very tempting for a bind, but to no avail.  I've tried everything I can think of.  I even tried swimming into his mouth in fish form...  Anyways I have this nagging worry that I have spent 30 minutes with the jellyfish suit on killing evil mermaid dudes and there is some bug that is preventing me from beating him.  Can I just get reassured that shooting the muscle-eye and/or binding it isnt what I'm supposed to be doing?  I don't really want exactly what to do to be explained to me, but reassurance or a small hint would be sweet.  Thanks.

Gameplay / Re: *SPOILERS* This game is too f*ckin hard!!!
« on: December 17, 2007, 10:04:17 am »
Lol omfg.  for some reason I thought I tested eating hot soup and dashing out of water and I didn't get higher...  I guess I was wrong.  I managed to get the helm though.  By scaling the overhanging cliffs with nature form.  Man was that hard.  I'm kind of glad I did it that way though because it left me with a great sense of accomplishment.  I also got to the top of both shafts before the sun boss without raising the water first ( a similar doh moment when I beat him and learned I could just swim up there). For another great accomplished feeling after a bit of frustration, I made it to the broken window above the sun boss from the outside ^_^.  Which brings me to my next point thats a little more on topic.

If this game was easy, and/or you always knew where to go where would that sense of accomplishment be?  I love that there is no hint system.  Beating the game with all the momories etc, without reading this forum required enough willpower as it was.  If there was an in game hint system I would have read it long ago and regretted it.  I love that there are save points, and they aren't scattered everywhere.  Ever try to play WC3 or TFT campaign in hard mode?  It's actually very easy., save every 5 minutes.  every battle owned np.  The only thing that I can think of to appease the people who want to save anywhere so they can play casually or whatever, is a system that allows you to have one save file that can be saved anywhere, but it clears itself when you load it.  Either that or some sort of 'hard-core' system that penalizes you for dieing.  Oops I wrote way more than I meant to.

I found this to be one of the easiest bosses for me.  Maybe it was just cause I was strong when I got there.  For the first half I just stuck on the floor next to a bulb and just fired shots straight out till it died (you cant even get hurt) Then for the second form, I stuck to the ceiling and wailed away at its head.  In the second part, you get a head but here and there, but nothing that requires healing if you didnt get hurt in first half.

Gameplay / Re: How to kill Sun Temple Worm?

The first time I beat him, I used nature form and made myself a little cactus fort to hide in.  He keeps charging you and bouncing off the cactuses till he dies.  It can be pretty hard to make a tent you dont slowly get ejected from though, but you can always make more.  It felt like cheating though (and I somehow managed to die to one of those shooting mechanical crabs on the wasy to the save point) so I fought him again with nature form.  I just ate 3 of that food that gives you ammo in beast form.  spicy soup maybe? Then you can stay in beast form the whole time and just wail away at him.  His 2nd form gets slightly harder, but if you are careful you wont have to heal once.
