Games / Re: The game

I am often proud to say I'm one of the few (if only) people able to win the game.  Not many people (i.e. nobody) agree with me and my right to make such a claim but anyone who argues in that direction is very silly indeed.

I win.

If you've found that you've won, you'll note upon closer analysis that you are not actually playing "The Game", but must be playing a different game which you have inadvertently won as "The Game" does not include any provisions for actually winning.

Escape from Butchers Bay is the only game I can think of where the inclusion of a Hollywood celebrity in development actually helped the game ;)

This game actually got me to sincerely enjoy Vin Diesel. The dude with the club is voiced by Xzibit. I can probably count the number of movie-franchise games that weren't pure marketing tripe one hand.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay was freakin' amazing. Amazing voice acting and dialogue, a plot and game challenges that keep you guessing, great graphics, the whole thing just sucks you in. I replayed it three times.

Worms Armageddon! WOOOO! I've never had so much fun, or laughed so hard, as playing this game on hotseat with friends.

Dr. Mario tournaments with same friends were also intense.

Homeworld 1 and 2. These games had me on edge the entire time,  the game was so dramatic, moody and epic you always felt like you were just on the brink of complete destruction.

Dune II got me (and the rest of the world) started on RTS games.

X-Com: Ufo Defense.

Jagged Alliance 2: Deadly Games. So much turn-based fun, and so much character (and characters...)

Ah yes, TEH GOLDENEYE. Mmmmmmm, mmmm good.

I'm a sucker for film noir. And Max Payne 2.

Ok, I could keep tossing them out, but I'll cut myself off right there before I get carried away  ::)

I use my Gamecube controller and a USB adapter. I love the responsiveness and ergonomics. I prefer the old N64 button arrangement, though...

Games / Re: Console poll

Let's see... I had:

Intellivision
Atari 2600
Commodore 64
NES
SNES
N64
Gamecube
Gameboy

(Yeah, I'm a Nintendo stalwart, what can I say?"

PS1
Several PCs, starting with a Pentium 75 all the way up to my current gaming rig (which is all I have now).

Of course, I have all my old console games emulated on my PC, as old consoles and games aren't always around. I kept my old Gamecube controller and bought a USB adapter for it. Sweet times.

Gameplay / I think I missed getting dual form.

I went through the Sunken City, and now Li is trapped in the bubble. I didn't get Dual Form yet, did I miss it somewhere or do you just get it right at the end?
