Boot Camp uses special Mac-only drivers!
Yup...but the thing is, there are much better drivers for the 8600M GT when it comes to better performance. When I changed to the newest Nvidia drivers, I saw a huge increase in performance in games such as Oblivion, F.E.A.R, etc.
Oh well, I'll just have to switch back and forth as necessary. Right now, Aquaria is my priority as it is so damn good. It even converted my 2D hating friends into 2D lovers.

I find it odd that it crashes though, as everything else works fine.

I have an 8600M GT on my Macbook Pro, and I noticed everything worked like a dream when I was using the default Boot Camp drivers. When I updated to a newer graphics card driver, I got back my old problem of Aquaria crashing when I try to run it...

I think this might have something to do with the fact that my Boot Camp partition kind of got mutilated by me trying out Parallels... I'm sure a clean installation of XP will fix my problem. :)

Thank you for all the help, and I'll be sure to bother you if I have any more problems. ;)

Oh, I see... O_O
I am indeed using XP, and on version 1.3 (Beta) of Boot Camp. I haven't updated to the latest version because I want to reformat and repartition XP later, but I haven't had any other specific problems with XP of which I know.

Okay, I'll go download the demo right away and will test. :)
I'll report back as soon as I've gotten an answer. Thanks for the help. ;)
Okay, I've tried the demo, and it has the exact same problem... It's definitely something wrong on my side. :S

Unfortunately, I didn't download the demo. I wanted the full game right away. D:

I wonder if the problem exists because of something with my computer, or if its because of a problem with the files. I'll try downloading the installer again and see if I get a different result.

Thank you for the quick response, Alec! Unfortunately, the problem persists... =/
I wonder what the problem could be...I haven't seen anyone else with this problem. O_O

I apologize if this has been posted before, but I haven't seen another thread about it. I just bought and downloaded Aquaria, version (2007.12.10), and installed it without any problems.
However, when I try to run it by either running the .exe or by choosing Dive through the config setter, it gives me a warning that "Aquaria needs to close" because of some problem.

There is no problem specified anywhere except that it needs to close.  I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, as well as installing the full patch (which should be integrated into the version I have), although there was a file called 'data.001' which I did not previously have. No matter what I try, it keeps on crashing... I am so keen to start playing!

I am currently using:

Macbook Pro with Boot Camp -

8600M GT (Forceware 169.01)
2.4 GHz
2 GB RAM

I don't know what else to include, so please ask if necessary.

Any help would be appreciated.  ^_^
