I decide which stories seem to be more "trustworthy"ยง than others.

Stories "told" by a professional German computing magazine, which is rather technically oriented, are the ones I tend to rather trust.

Also "stories" by people I personally know.

Yes I am.

And no I don't want not to pay.

Ebay users offer me direct money transfers, with no-one in the middle.

To me, it's just more secure: I can be quite sure the money reaches them.

On the other hand, I can't say what Paypal might be doing. The latest report I read in the German magazine called " c't " is about a man who sent the money, but it never reached the seller, as it was stuck somewhere within Paypal, and so he was accused of not willing to pay.

Another story is that of Paypal cancelling a subscription, because they held the opinion that the one who had subscribed via them didn't have enough money or was not trustworthy to keep the subscription on.

Trust me, I've read enough stories to have my doubts.

Although ... others don't ... ;)

Well, the point is that I don't shop online at all. ;)
Only ebay, and there I can have direct bank transfers.

I'd call myself not paranoid, but rather conservative regarding this point. ;)

Well, size isn't a sign for secureness to me.

I have read several times rather weird and even disturbing stories/reports of what can go wrong within the bureaucratic process of transferring money with Paypal. Enough stories to keep me away from using it.

I think I'd rather prefer a money order, that sounds better to me - although I must admit that one cannot be careful enoughwhen it comes down to money.

There are too many phishers out there nowadays, and trojan-makers who'd like to get your credit card number for free. ;)

I don't have a credit card, sorry. And I don't plan to buy one.

But I can be patient. :) I've waited so long for this game, I can wait for the full version, too. ;) :)

Games / Re: What game made you afraid?

At one point I decided to put a big distance between me and games that are - in my eyes - just violent.

That's because I simply can't play them. Acting/playing violent just makes me kind of sick.

This means I'm not playing games like shooters, especially, and also horror/mytery - themed games, because I don't like horror at all.

Games / Re: Games We've Loved...
« on: December 13, 2007, 11:55:25 pm »
The games I loved most were

- Zanzarah
- Commander Keen
- Indy Jones and the fate of Atlantis
- Monkey Island I

for different reasons.

Zanzarah had the most immersive effect to me; it 's one of the few unique games that I totally loved - that made be feel - be - in this world.

You can still find information on it on www.zanzarah.de , although it might have become difficult to get this game at all. Nowadays.

Hello,
everyone,

I just wanted to thank the makers for Aquaria for their efforts and their really unique game.

As I was playing the demo, I was blown away. I went speechless. I was so impressed like only one or twiche ever with a game (Zanzarah is one of these examples).

I'm watching this game for 1-2 years now, but never registeered on the forum until now.

I knew, however, instantly from the beginning that this was becoming something special. *Very* special.

You proved me right.

There are no words in my mind to describe what I think or feel about this game ... - only pictures, tunes and telepathy would go. Or verses. ;)

I'll keep watching this game, alas I'm not using credit cards, paypal or similar things for payment, so I'll have to wait for a different way to get the full game.
I don't use these payment methods as a principle - I've heard too many stories of what can go wrong that I decided that they are unsfe in my opinion.

So, ... a boxed version would be nice, plus the soundtracks. :) Or both sold separately. :) Because if I had the soundtrack on CD, I could listen to it looong after this game is gone, maybne, or no more playable (except in emulators) at a far, far distant point in the future.

But however, I see that you'll need to get through this first, before you can make such bold plans - that's the fate of Indie developers.

I only wish that other ways of purchasing would be possible as well - I'm not speaking of Steam or so, but rather secure methods, direct bank transfers or money orders, for example.

Finally, i can only say: Keep up the good work ! :) I have seldom felt as delightes as playing through this game in years, and that means a lot ! :)

But anyway, this game is unique. :) It will always be in my heart. :)

^^ Geez

It's so different from the forum before the release now. There's so much people XD

This is normal.

I've experienced in an formerly rather empty game forum as well.

The only problem might be that too many people chance the "tune" or "verse" ;) of a forum, the feeling there.
