General / BRAVO (very slight spoilers)

Hi guys.

Just completed Aquaria (22 hours).
I had all the memories, so experienced the full ending.

Words fail me to describe the beauty of this game.

And the ending sequence... WOW... just WOW.
It's not pretentious or forced, yet still comes across as poignant and powerful.

The credit sequence is also beautiful - it feels like something from a AAA game.
The song during the credits was also wonderful.

When Naija says "perhaps a part of me still lingered in the past", it struck a chord.
I guess it rings true for all of us that enjoy old-school styled games like Aquaria.

Magnificent stuff. I hope the message at the very end comes true.

Gameplay / Cutscene after meeting Li
« on: December 18, 2007, 01:39:54 pm »
Hi ho.

LOVING the game. Absolutely magnificent.

Okey dokey, onto business.
After meeting Li, there is a lovely cutscene.

Naija says something along the lines of "I can't believe I'm not the only one of my kind" or something like that. I don't remember the exact words.
Anyway - the text on-screen does not match her spoken words.
The text on-screen says something like "I can't believe I'm the only one of my kind".

Sorry I've forgotten the exact wording - I hope you know which bit of her speech I am talking about.

Thanks for this amazing game.

General / Re: A HUGE Thank You to Alec and Derek

Hi there.

Yes, a big thank you from me as well.
After having played through the demo, I bought the full version without hesitation, and am looking forward to downloading and playing it.

After the non-stop deluge of match-3 and other copycat games, it's wonderful to see something like Aquaria.
It is clear just how much love and care has gone into this game, and it should serve as an inspiration to other indie developers out there.

Incidentally, I just thought I would mention what it was that convinced me to buy the full version.
The music.
Sure, the graphics are absolutely gorgeous, and so beautifully animated, and the gameplay is sublime.
But the music is just... how can I put this?
Aural sex.

Some parts reminded me of The Secret of Mana, and some of Planescape Torment.
All of it is beautiful and full of feelings like dread, discovery and freedom.

Congratulations guys. I wish you all the best in the future.
You deserve huge success with this masterpiece.
