well i also backed up my save data, which saved anyway after deleting local game content on steam, and reinstalled all files. and the problem was still there. so maybe it is an AA/AF problem. i will try and get back to you.

verifying the game files on steam did not do anything to help my problems.
this is game breaking for me. i have an ATI card, is this the problem? 4890 on win7 64
