Gameplay / Re: Playing without Auto Aim?
« on: December 12, 2007, 08:13:28 am »
Keyboard + mouse gives you independent movement/aiming as well.

What does the Spider Roll Web ability do anyway? I never figured out how to use it correctly. As for Enemy Targetting also turned off, that seems doable, but much harder for bosses or enemies that fire tons of bullets, where you'll be spending almost all of your effort dodging. How does the charge shot work without targeting anyway?

What was killing you, Andy? The Eye had me stumped the longest, but like most bosses, once you figure out the trick, the execution is fairly simple.

Why would mouse+no autoaim be harder than gamepad and no autoaim?

A separate question: Who is playing with the mouse only? I find it significantly more natural to use the keyboard for movement and mouse for singing/shooting. It surprises me that isn't in tutorial tips, as moving and shooting both with just the mouse is much harder.

You can't unlight pearls, and that passage doesn't go anywhere.

Except you don't have to do any kind of charging at all, just RMB and wave over an enemy.

Yes, I play with Auto Aim off. This is an example of where Bit-Blot needs more documentation. You see the second checkbox: Enemy Targetting? What that does is when you hold down Right Mouse for a split second and move the cursor over anything, that becomes your target, which then behaves like Auto Aiming, except you choose the target! No auto lockon to some completely insignificant fish swimming by. It's even more important for bosses that spit out enemies so you're not constantly shooting them. It is really the only way to play.

It's actually playing in the background repeatedly, much louder than the music in Sunken City.

The one flying away is definitely Naija and Li's son. If you finish the game without all the memories, after the credits, Naija tells you to go back and try again, as you were too focused on just the facts and not the memories of her childhood..."my son".

With all the memories, that is replaced by the Mia sequence, with the boy touching the memory crystal. As for the long black haired one on the bed, could be another child, but he looks different, and older. Don't think it could be Li, as he doesn't look human at all, and I don't think it is the first son, as he doesn't look half human/half whatever-Naija-is.

Golden Starfish is in the bottom right corner of the veil.

Strange thing I noticed- the Big Seed doesn't seem to show up anywhere in Home, and there's even an empty alcove in the kelp garden area that seems perfect for it. Also, the diving helmet in Home (which I assume you can use to leave Li there) can't be used.

Really? I have a gap on the second page, between Drask's Trident and Jelly Egg.

Edit: Nevermind, I missed the Song Plant.

Nice fine, Icylace. It occurs to me that with the giant anemone and the giant turtle both being near treasures, that no one has found a use for the Giant Snail yet.
