Oh jeez, I didn't expect this to ever be released. Hooray! Will be buying as soon as it's available.

Well, the guide basically just mentions the enemies - it purposefully does not say "kill all the enemies before moving on" and even uses the word "avoid" from about halfway on, because that's what I tend to do too.

And.. obviously, it's written by me. I use energy form for basically everything. I admit, the scream is useful in the gauntlet, especially in the Room of About A Billion Mutilus', but like.. I dunno. I didn't really think it was worth putting in. At that point you should have pretty much mastered the controls of the game, and it's really your choice for which form you use. I guess I could have mentioned the scream, but I was playing it as I was writing and I only use energy as I hate the fact Li's shots don't home in :|.

The nature form thorns I never really got the hang of, so I skipped them a lot. I did mention at the end of the crab guide that you can also use thorns if you really want to, but that's no fun D:.

And on the spirit form, I swear I put the fact it absorbs energy shots in there. If I didn't, damn, I really did mean to.

And I mentioned energy shot + food in most of the boss guides. I think. Again, I meant to, if I didn't. Huh.

I just noticed I made over 200 posts on this forum? Wow. That's uh.. wow.

And yeah, it's more just an FYI than wanting anyone to read through it - it's a whole ton of words, I mainly wrote it to get Aquaria out of my system for once and for all. Done the fanart, done the walkthrough, just about done with it now I think :D.

Gameplay / Full Walkthrough

Just wanted to point out on another playthrough I wrote a walkthrough as I went. It follows the shortest path throughout the game, while still grabbing all the treasures and all the recipes that I know of. It's still missing a bunch of recipes, but I'm not sure if they are in-game and only found them out via the useful guides dotted around these very forums.

So on that note, any suggestions for later versions would be appreciated, but I think it's pretty much done. Took about 3 days of on-and-off writing, for a 6-hour playthrough haha :D.

Uh, so yeah, here it be:

Gameplay / Map Notes
« on: April 06, 2009, 12:47:15 pm »
Sup.

Saw a Youtube vid a few weeks ago, listing some of the hidden features in Aquaria, one being map notes.. decided to play through again today, but I can't find the video, and can't figure out which key it is.

Anyone know? I don't think the video was bogus, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.

Thanks.

Hrm, if people ripped it by recording the audio from the game, then its going to be kinda crap quality.
Well, it beats not being able to listen to it without running Aquaria at all.

Light, too. I didn't do the others because I didn't like them as much :D.

If you rip any more, Dozin, let me know. The Open Waters one is cool (but I'll feel stupid if that's Light or something, it's been a week or two since I played).

Wha.. has anyone official said ANYTHING about releasing a hard version? I know Alec has mentioned a hard soundtrack but I didn't think they had any plans at all for a standard hard version of the game let alone a CE with mass produced extras inside.

There are a ton of programs that can record "what-u-hear".

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get any to work on this PC, but I had then working on my old PC just fine.

Here's an endless loop of Kelp Forest, in swf version (no video, just audio):

Yeah, the only jumping bit you have to do is in the Sun temple's spike room, right? Outside that, everything else is optional.

Gameplay / Re: Regarding eagle door *spoilers*
« on: January 03, 2008, 02:28:14 pm »
Oh, right, okay, no problem then. Good, because it really does break the game. A lot of people that do it don't even think they are glitching (you just switch to fish form and swim really hard through the spikes), but yeah it's terrible.

Good, you're about to do one of the hardest parts of the game, good luck :D!

You already got the alternate ending before opening that door? Man, they really need to make it so you can't bug past into The Body early.

Yeah that's pretty crappy, man. A lot of people will see that and be all "oh, ok, she meets a ___. great."

I've used my debit card for every purchase online since I got it, except a few. I didn't even try it here because I happened to have funds in my Paypal, but yeah it being "only useful for ATMs" is pretty wrong.

Of course, it could be a country difference. Maybe UK debit cards are more useful than US ones or something, heh.

..the sunken city IS the flying city, we guess? Wouldn't that make sense?

Also you see the intro the first time you play, but if you missed it click the blue crystal on the title screen.

The Creator is just what the boy called himself when he learned to create things due to the unnamed spirit that inhabits him once he "dies". He doesn't give an age, but I'd guess it's been quite a while since the flying city was smashed during the intro.

So yeah, watch the intro, it'd help you understand a lot.
