A few days ago I went to my friend's house and we downloaded a vs map and played it. Its point was that the first player to throw a ball and hit the button (pretty much basketball), made the floor under the other player open and kill him.

About two months.
If you find an interesting old topid, you still shouldn't post on it. Usually y0u just kinda keep it to yourself. If there is an old topic discussing some sort of modding issue (for example), that still exists (as in, the information in the thread is still correct, it's not outdated), and you found a workaround or made a fix, then it would be fine to post it. However, do NOT post on old threads asking for support (unless it's your own thread and you never got an answer, but you think you should have). Usually the user asking for support will be long gone or has figured it out for himself. Or gave up, whatever. A bump like that is usually considered unnecessary.
Pretty much for everything else, either keep it to yourself or try to bump it in a certain way that will make people stay on topic instead of accusing you
