Haha thats funny.  I tried it on the one in the veil and the rock would stick to the ceiling.

This is great.  I like the way it works and the weapons alot.  It took a few tries but wasn't too hard to finish so it seems a  good level of difficulty.  I'm hoping there's more to come?  Maybe if you want to take it even further you could make Li be able to shoot backwards or face the other way.  Anyway, this is awesome and I want to take a look into the script and play around with it a bit.

Gameplay / Re: The Gauntlet, or how to ruin a very enjoyable game
« on: January 27, 2010, 12:05:39 am »
I played the whole game using only the keyboard controls.  The only time the mouse was good was for wall-jumping.  It did get annoying to have to move the mouse to re-aim the energy shots but i figured out if you keep it just above Naija's head than it will almost always auto-aim and hit something.  Plus, if you take one of the +2 speed soups along with a good defensive something you can do the whole thing rather quickly (except when you get stopped by the things blocking the way...)

General / Re: two questions

The same thing happened to me for both of these.

1.  As I understand they made it and then decided not to use it in the game.  I've put it in mods and it has worked, however I don't know how to kill it.  There may be some trick I haven't figured out or something.

2.  Its in the abyss in the whale chamber.  Go towards the tail end of the whale on the top wall and there is a fish-form only passage going up.  I just found out where it is by loading the level in native and leaving the room to see where I ended up.

Modding / Re: World Maps in Mods (Beta Testers Wanted)
« on: January 13, 2010, 02:35:39 am »
Wow!  This is perfect.  I tried your demo on my MacBook and it seemed to work perfectly.  However, I encountered problems when trying to incorporate it into my own mod.  I (being inexperienced  at scripting and such) could not figure out how to make my images appear on the minimap.  For example:

{"mul", "mmaps/mul.png", 0, 0, 256, 256, 650, "Open Passages",

i changed this to:
{"calebtest", "mmaps/calebtest.png", 0, 0, 256, 256, 650, "Welcome to Caleb's test map!",

my map is named calebtest and there is a picture called calebtest.png in a mmaps folder in the graphics folder.  The words appear when I start the level and I can open the minimap however I only get the plain we-cant-find-your-image squares.  Also, i happened to leave one of the demo maps in the folder and it came up when there was no reference to it in the whole script.  Edwards, you said you would post more detailed instructions for stupid people like me so, if this is the case, feel free to ignore this and I will figure it out when they are posted.

Thanks,
Caleb

Thanks Edwards for the script.  I haven't visited the forums in a while...

I had the same problem as you and after I reinstalled my mods and saved games were still there.  I would also suggest making your own copy of everything you plan on changing before you do change it.

Oh sorry for misleading you.  I'm just fairly new to the forums and just am starting to look at the topics.

I enjoyed the whole creator sequence, except the search in the dark one.  Looking at the modding aspect of the game I found another creator form that I don't remember in the game.  Anyone know why it was taken out?
Despite what alot of people say I liked the Jelly King.  It looked cool, had lasers, spawned littlejellys, trapped you in it, and was a difficult fight.  It wasn't mentally challenging but it tested your reflexes and abundance of extra ingredients.  I spent much of the game collecting ingredients and this was the first boss that I had to use more than a couple of them.
The sun worm was also great.  The changing waterlevel was difficult and called for quick changes of forms.

Yes you will need plant (or nature) form to get the pearl which is found in the Kelp Forest latter in the game.  I also spent a long time trying to figure out how to open the door.

This is great, very helpful.  I want to make a song where it reloads the current map (I can get it to load a specific map).  Is there a code for getting the current map?  It would be helpful to have in a mod if you got to a place where you were stuck and didn't want to go through the whole dying sequence.

I downloaded this mod from here onto my mac and it messed up naijas form.  Every body part is little white squares.  I deleted it and put in the backup included (i checked all of the body parts and they looked right.)  Now the regular naija is all squares.  Help?
