Hey, did I read correctly that you mapped the Wii remote to the mouse and played Aquaria like that?

I believe that GlovePIE takes the input through your BlueTooth receiver and, in the case of mapping it to mouse m0vements, moves the position of the Windows mouse cursor. That being said, what Aquaria does with the mouse input, and what windows does with the mouse input are two totally different things and I thought that mapping the Wiimote to Windows' cursor will not affect Aquaria's mouse input.

I could be wrong, but that is what makes sense.

So what I'm trying to ask is: "Are you using a program (for example PPJoy) to map the Wii input to a virtual joystick (via GlovePIE), and then in Aquaria's options, selecting joystick/gamepad control settings?"

The reason why I'm asking: If you are mapping to joystick input,  it could be possible for the developers to create a mouse look and joypad movement configuration... But easier said than done still...

BTW: I have scripted in GlovePIE a little. Maybe the topic of scripting could be a new sub development/mod thread.
Only reason why I haven't tried using Wiimote on Aquaria earlier is my batteries ran out. It certainly does seem like an obvious controller to try the game with though.

Thanks

Hey everyone!

I noticed that on the main page blog posts, near the end, there seems to be a secret message spelling out one letter at a time each day...

What could it be!?!??!

Lol, I can't wait!

Now that I let this stir for a bit, I should probably mention that I live in Winnipeg. This is the city where Aquaria developer Alec Holowka grew up, so we may talk about Aquaria with more pride than other cities or countries might.

Probably the same for Derek's home town citizens too.

Hey everyone. I just remembered about a cool story regarding Aquaria that my father told me. I should have posted this sooner, but I had forgotten about it. Here goes:

My father works at a Bank. Needless to say, he's old and boring. None the less, I told him about how great a game Aquaria is going to be, considering its (at the time recent) grand prize win at the IGF. I honestly didn't even think my dad was listening, but he took in the information and mentioned it at work to another colleague. Another employee at the bank had also heard of Aquaria. Turns out her two boys have been talking about Aquaria too. The children, in turn, learned about the game from one of their school teachers.

And that's pretty much the story. I promise it's true and I guess it's not so hard to believe since it's boring and all.
The interesting thing about this though is how you got to really start to wonder... how many people are talking about Aquaria? Once the marketing starts, this has potential to have big sales! All the way from bankers to teachers to school children, everyone will be wanting Aquaria.

PS - I'm really surprised that my father would talk about video games at work. I have never seen him play a video game in my life. I would think his co-worker probably started the conversation some how...
