Yeah! It works!

After removing then reloading the nVidia driver via Windows Update it now runs very fine!

Thanks for the replies.

Dirhael: It probably is a driver issue as you point out. I cannot get 7 to update the driver. Did you use the Vista version from NVIDIA?

I tried that and it even came up in SETUP as Windows 7 but the install froze. Any attempt to reinstall Windows pops up telling me the latest driver is installed etc.

Anyway it is apparently an issue with my computer. Glad the game will run on 7!

I will try to get a new driver on there. Thanks.

Greetings. I just started playing via the Steam version and found this forum searching for tips and walkthroughs.

Nice game! Nice Forum! Thanks!

Anyway I just wanted to point out here that I cannot run the game under Windows 7 Beta. It runs beautifully under XP Pro on the same computer but under the 7 Beta after the loading bar the FPS goes down rapidly until the game crashes.

I get an error that the game needs to close and then in the event log there is an OpenGL error. Anyway I am playing under XP but just wanted to point this out.

If anyone would like the exact error logs I can recreate the issue and send them along. Perhaps it is a conflict with DirectX 11? Windows 7 is using the same nVIDIA driver as XP.  Perhaps the Vista driver would help but I was never prompted to load or update this driver. Windows 7 adopted all my XP drivers upon install.

I have had no issue with other games. I've tested Bioshock; Crysis; and also Spore as of now.

Anyway just to let you know. And thanks again for the forum!
