DOSBox is a tool used to play games published a decade or longer ago (e.g. Frogger). The latest version of Aquaria was designed to run on XP and Vista. Open up Aquaria, then alt+tab back to the desktop and right-click the taskbar on the bottom. Open up Task Manager and make sure you're using less than 50% CPU/RAM. Your computer might not be able to run the game - Aquaria uses a lot of anti-aliasing.

Sea Dragons and a strange fish with a worm in its mouth can both be ridden (in the Kelp Forest). I'm not quite sure about the latter.

I've gotten as far as killing most of the pink-bullet-shooting guys in the final room, and I've managed to flee to the exit on at least 1 occasion. But every time I try to fight that super-boss I lose. Those bullets move crazy fast!I've successfully escaped by the seat of my pants (

After six months of negotiations, Microsoft denied the creators of Machinarum access to the system, citing exclusivity issues (the Mac and Linux release). 
Looks like the PSN and Wii are the best bets if Alec and Derek are considering a console version.
