« on: September 04, 2012, 07:11:54 am »
Just 2 questions:
When is Marian released?
When is Aquaria 2 released?

Keep the good work.

If I remember correctly, we were thinking she'd be 16-18 -ish.

Of course, we weren't planning on people making nude mods. :)

Oh you poor little innocent man...
Oh the humanity...

Modding / Bug: Aquaria: Sacrifice v1.1 Beta
« on: March 20, 2010, 05:27:20 am »
1.- Ok, I saw the Flag 0 msg pop when speaking with the little squid after leaving Mithalas cathedral, it kicks out of Aquaria but doe snot close the program, when returning however it is stuck and need to restart. Someone already posted this one earlier.

2.- Speaking with Drask in order to leave Mithalas, at the last part of conversation you have 2 choices:
A) "Drask I love you...."
and
B) I will hurry and come back

Choose option A), if you choose B) the dialog becomes blank and non responsive, clicking the X on top does not work.

Forgot to mention, this is a clean game from scrath.

Modding / Bug on Sacrifice_v1.1-Beta
« on: March 18, 2010, 10:13:15 pm »
Just got to the Arena, played the 1st combat map, round with 4 passages.
After killing everything in 11 minutes or so a message came up "Upsidedown...something" but could not leave map, i right clicked everywhere, no portal no opening no door or anything all over the combat map.

EDIT: I think my saved game got borked... when i put 1.1 beta I already had a saved game earlier, now the Mithala sequence appears again next to the throne room, if I speak with Mithala there Fred's sequence happens taking me to his home in The Veil, where his minions attack only to be dragged away by the walker.

Might need to restart game again...  :-\

I have been playing this mod for the past 5 hours, at the moment I am a little loss on where to go, I have spirit form and just beat the toad on the moving idol inside the forest, still trying to get my bearings on what to do next.

The mod itself is quite creative, a small extra adventure using old elements, yet still is good and enjoyable keeping the "Aquaria" spirit.

I have not seen any bad things on it but I did notice a quirk or 2 that made me smile and realize that the creator or creators of the mod have been more affected by the internet and IRC era  :P

Example of this is the use of bracketed emotions [blushes], [smiles].
I do not mean to say it is bad, just... strange.
By no means I disapprove of their use, though in classical role-play adventures the  use of proper 3rd person writing has always been the most used tool.

A simple example of this, at Elena's home where young Naija is when asked about the treasures and praised she answers:
[Blushes] Thank you Elena.

Were a more classical example of the same line could be:
After hearing Elena's words of praise a warm blush appears on Naija's cheeks, her eyes drop a little when she speaks with a soft whisper "Thank you Elena."

Kudos for the great work put in this mod, keep it up   :)

After finally reinstalling version 1.1.1 decided to download the mods and take a look at them.
I have no idea what people think of this particular mod though the responses on the thread were varied.
To each its own I say.

On my side? I love this mod, Naija looks just cute, simple as that  ;)

Also used the "Beauty of Aquaria" mod with this one and they are like a marriage made in the ocean  :)

Heh and a small joke here, inside the same Beauty of Aquaria mod if you travel west (left) and are using this mod too you might suddenly go funny looking. "Excuse me, waiter? there's a nude human in my ocean"  ;D

Lovely mod ^.^

Plimus re-activated my download link and everything is peachy.

When I first encountered the problem, all the information Plimus gave lead me to believe that my only course of action was to contact Bit Blot. Of course, I now know that this is not true. I just received an email reminder of my purchase from Plimus and that if I had any problems, to follow a link...

http://home.plimus.com/ecommerce/buyers/buyers-support

... I selected an option for "Non-responsive Vendor" on the linked page and gave a brief description of the problem. Within a day I had my download link re-activated and now I'm swimming away in the murky depths of bliss. Oddly enough, there was a stipulation in the email saying that if after 2 days the vendor does not respond, then fill out the support form and submit it to Plimus. 2 days? How nice of them to tell me this after 21 days of passively telling me to go bother Bit Blot.

Hopefully, this helps others who are looking to download Aquaria again. Just request a download from Bit Blot, wait 2 days and visit Plimus' support page. Of course, you should have your order number handy and, I'd imagine, use the same email address as you did with your original order and there should be no issues with the request.

I'd just like to say that I would have appreciated a clearly posted locked sticky thread with a link to Plimus' support page detailing how to re-download an order. It would have saved me some time, you know? ;-)

I am trying that right now to hopefully get a re-download.
EDIT: I just got the link from plimus after 1 hour of sending them the "vendor non responsive" option. that is a good thing.
The bad thing is, seems to be version 1.1.1   :(  well, at least its a download.  :)

Yes, interested on the way it shifts from female song to the chorus (male) that plays alongside Najia's voice in the cave.

Or they might actually BE voices.  You know people still sing right?  Haha, just teasing you.  Alec would know more.
Yeah it occurred to me they might be actual voices converted to something else, but it is the final effect I'm interested on, yesterday spent maybe 30 minutes only playing with songs on the save i spoke earlier that cuses the deeper chorus to be heard  :D

General / Voice synth / chorus question.
« on: August 30, 2008, 09:59:34 am »
Got a question, been playing Aquaria for a while, have finished it and playing it out again and got curious...
I kind of understand that Naija's songs are made using voice synthesizer and also the chorus that plays on the intro music and close to the area where the game starts (spot in caves that has big mushrooms that change color with the songs near bones) but... how are those sounds made? are they made with software or with keyboard.
Have searched the forum for an answer and decided to ask straight ahead.
Closest sounds like that I have ever heard that resemble a voice would be the "Opera House" on Final Fantasy VI.

Anyway, keep the great work, I'm still waiting for the sequel ^.^
