Here is an idea - Achievements with rewards
Achievements could give small bonuses on the current and new games.
Here are a few ideas of achievements:
Chef - Cook 200 meals - Reward: Slightly higher drop rate for food (5%)
Pharmacophobia - Do not use any healing foods - Reward: Faster healing (once you "finish" the game (get all forms?))
Treasure Hunter - Find all treasures - Reward: Faster movement speed
Innovator - Find all recipes - Reward: Unique recipe
Pet lover - Collect all pets - Reward: Pets do more damage

Personally I think this is impossible/unneeded, but it would indeed be a nice addon to a good MOD, I personally think that no healing foods at all is a bit over the top, unless you're a realy pro and stuff. And I also think that atm it's impossible to add a Recipe, with with the normal LUA coding we have atm, seeing I heard that the recipes are hard coded.

Nice ideas. I was seeing to implement something into my mod too. We will see about it, but I think that level uping standard character statistics is a bit retarded way to add the bonuses. I'm gonna think about something quite new ;)

You *Could* do a similar thing to the current treasure system and have collectable Trophies of sorts (That maybe also produce a steady supply of food supplies or restore your health or what have you) , or alternate costumes as well

Thats what I'm, Talking about ;) . I was also thinking about the system, that which after you meet certain characters, they will be able to join you and aid with their help (on a certain map, or through whole game), just as it was with Li. It would also nice to think about some things, which could have an effect on the rest of gameplay. I dunno, if all of this is possible through stand-alone scripts but after all, lua scripting adds a big point to this game's engine :)
