Hi all, I just wanted to make sure that this form was a part of the game I couldn't possibly miss; I've explored everywhere but inside the Body (I've only gone in just a teeny bit), and I was kinda worried that I some how missed it even though I've been pretty much everywhere (I think). Perhaps the order I did things in makes it so I missed it and I've forgotten about some path I couldn't cross?
I did Energy Temple --> Open Waters (top two parts only, when I got to the lower parts I thought I was going somewhere I shouldn't because of all the crazy shooter and Nautilus things) --> Mithalas City --> Mithalas Castle (skipped the Cathedral though) --> Kelp Forest --> Mithalas Cathedral (Got Beast) --> Kelp Forest (Got Nature) --> Mithalas Cathedral (Got Spirit) --> The Veil --> The Ice Veil --> Open Waters (bottom two areas a little) --> The Abyss --> Sunken City --> Arnassi Ruins and the rest of the Open Waters maps --> More Abyss/Whale and now I'm at The Body. Sorry for the long list, but I did a heck of a lot of back tracking and re-exploring, in part because I freaked when I got to the Cathedral. The spooky music (love it by the way) made me think it was a more final part of the game, and I was NOT ready to beat it. I'm still not ready to beat it. Only need one more treasure and the dual form along with some recipes (Cold Soup for one), but I am not ready for the adventure to end.
Any hints but not outright spoilers would be awesome (I've already done a search of the forums for Dual form, and both times I did it, there was no indication of what part of the game it was in/how far in).
Happy playing :)

You get Dual Form inside "The Body". :)

Sounds like you already read too many spoilers ;D

You get the Dual Form as a part of the story, that is, you're forced to get it when you need it, and can't get it before then. Don't worry about it, and stop reading all them spoilers.

Its kind of dumb how many spoilers there are on the Aquaria wikipedia article. Almost like someone is intentionally trying to ruin the game for others.

Thanks for the answer :). I really was worried I'd somehow missed it and I get a bit obsessive compulsive with re-exploring. I've been through the Kelp Forest so much, I kinda hate it now. I've also discovered I'm missing a health egg, and I'm going through the different areas trying to find it. There's a sunken ship in the Kelp Forest with nothing in it, although part of it is like a hidden entrance and is dark. Was there supposed to be something in there? I know I've been in there a lot, and much of that was before I got the Sun Form, so I'm afraid I did something wrong somewhere. I did look at the wikipedia article for the Health eggs, and they have one of the health eggs as being in a sunken ship, and I was afraid I somehow opened it without knowing and then didn't gather the life force, and that it is now gone forever.
I've been real bad with Aquaria... I went through a big chunk of the game and then looked up some help faqs type things, such as the wikia. I usually try to beat a game and go through again for the collector's or 100% beaten run. The game is definitely harder (especially in the puzzles) than any other game I've played (which I like to be honest :D).
Anyway, happy playing :P

I agree with you; the spoilers are a bit much, but the Wikipedians (after much debate) have pretty much decided that Wikipedia is gonna be spoilerific. A couple of people tried deleting some of the spoilers, but it was reverted because of that very rule. If you can find some other reason to justify removal of spoilers, you might have better luck. Unfortunately, the only thing I can think of is to assert that Aquaria isn't notable enough to be described in such detail, and that just hurts to even consider!
There's a forum user named lukipuk (whose only posts are in this thread (http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?topic=426.msg4708)), which is the name of the major contributor to the Wikipedia article, so he's probably the guy you might want to talk to. Whether it has spoilers or not, though, the article ought to have good grammar, so I've made a few edits myself to clean it up in that respect. :)
Edit: Typo.

That's nice for them that they suddenly decided to drop all the spoiler tags, but its a bit rough for people who are expecting spoiler tags. You think they'd do something about it.
Oh well.
-
I think the whole site is pretty much a spoiler.
-
Yeah, it makes sense. :)
Its just going to be an interesting transition. I'm used to going there to get a sense of what something is about without having it spoiled.
-
Ah well. I think the reasoning they used was that if there'll be spoilers, the headings - e.g. Plot - should make it pretty clear. You shouldn't have "Harry Potter is a series of books that ZOMGSNAPEKILLSDUMBLEDOREWITHROSEBUDANDTHEYREBOTHTYLERDURDEN".
-
So maybe there ought to be (or already is) a wiki-encyclopedia site devoted specifically to entertainment: books, movies, and of course, games. Such a site would be far more likely to be concerned about spoilers and would provide a way to avoid them. Anyone know of a good one?

Yea I never visit Wikipedia about a game I'm currently playing or planning to play. It's just too dangerous.

Hi,
It's true that I am responsible for majority of Aquaria article on wikipedia. But i have written it to help aquaria to be more popular. Wikipedia is after all a spoiler site by definition. It sure wasn't my intent to spoil the gameplay for anyone, but as you pointed out, the 'spoiler' thing may be not so evident to people who doesnt know wikipedia. I haven't been thinking about this issue in that way, so i'm sorry if my effort will do more bad than good :( Maybe i should have waited with the forms descriptions at least...

You could rewrite some of the stuff, which holds too much spoilers. There's always a method ;)

I hope you know I'm not trying to demonize you in any way. More than anything, Aquaria needs exposure, and a Wikipedia article is a great way to get it. You're doing the game a service by taking initiative and putting together an article for it.
What I wish Wikipedia had done was make it so that you can enclose spoilers in a special tag, and then have a setting in user profiles that allow you to hide that information. By default, it would show, but if you're the type that doesn't like spoilers, you can set yourself up to hide them.

RobertWalker: That is actually a very good idea, the spoiler tag is something that was usefull mainly for people not aware of wikipedia policy as for people who wants to read something without being afraid of spoiling things (but on the other hand I can understand the motivation behind removing it, because there is no spoiler tag in 'real paper' encyclopedia either). When i was writing the article, i was surprised that the spoiler tag was removed. I was trying to write it so the first part contains only brief overview with informations already available in teasers and previews. And many thanks to you and other people for contributing to article and fixing my poor grammar :)
IceD: Rewriting is a way to solve the problem, but I dont't have so much time now (the exams at school), nor have very good skills in writing in english language. But wikipedia is open and i would like to invite you to discuss the article on its discussion page, and suggest different ways to alter the spoilerish nature of it. Some people tries to delete content from the article, but so large changes are used to be made after discussion and/or voting, and will be reverted back to original state by any wikipedian if not properly explained.

The problem with putting Aquaria on Wikipedia is that the whole game revolves around both gameplay and plot. If you spoil the plot, people will only play for gameplay. It's sad everything was put on wikipedia (I think, I didn't read it as I haven't finished the game), especially because Aquaria is a plot-game.
Just my 2 cents.

I don't care if there are no spoiler tags in a "real encyclopedia" because that's exactly the point of this being an ONLINE encyclopedia. Computers offer us things that books don't and spoiler tags, links, and enlarged pictures are but a few of them. The spoiler tag served a very important purpose and its removal is only harmful to the integrity of Wikipedia as a resource.
