Title: Vertical Lines
Post by: quarrystile on December 22, 2007, 11:37:26 am
I was not sure where to post this as this is my first time on the forum.

Oh well, more frustration  (http://www.trle-community.net/images/smiles/sad.gif) (http://www.trle-community.net/images/smiles/cry.gif)
I decided to download Aquaria for my daughters. My daughters are only 6 and 8. As a result of this, I have not installed a graphics card in their computer. I just resorted to the onboard graphics chip ( In this case, S3 UniChrome Pro IGP )
This works well with ALL the games that they play at the moment.

Unfortunately, Aquaria does not like this chipset. I have tried all configurations and settings ingame without any luck.
Thoughout the game we just get these vertical lines.  I KNOW it is because of the inbuilt graphics chip. (http://www.trle-community.net/images/smiles/annoyed.gif)

Is there anything else I can try BEFORE resorting to buying a graphics card ??

Update the drivers, but that's about it, unfortunately.

Aquaria is quite graphically intensive, especially for a 2d game. It would make sense that an older intergrated card would have a hard time handling it.

Hopefully you can find some drivers there.

I FIXED IT !!!!! (http://209.85.48.11/3106/35/emo/zy%28a%29hoo.gif)

How many times do we tell people to update their drivers, and then forget to do it ourselves  (http://www.trle-community.net/images/smiles/blush.gif) (http://www.trle-community.net/images/smiles/annoyed.gif)

THANK YOU dhakkel (http://209.85.48.11/3106/35/emo/z%28h%29%28i%29.gif)
